Great hotel for a short stay. Very close to so many places and the staff are very friendly. the ladies at the Reception were super helpful. i did not use many facilities, but having no pool was a trick. the gym was small but enough for my needs.

Lovely little boutique hotel, only 18 months old. Our room was on L6 with nice nighttime views of the city - the open rooftop has the most amazing city views, especially the beautiful Lotus Tower at night. We loved our room, quite spacious and very comfortable, air con was excellent - the heat of the day can be quite draining. Bed & pillows super comfortable, English-speaking movie channels on TV, modern bathroom with an excellent shower. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Great location on a narrow laneway with a fab cafe Java Lounge a few doors down (excellent coffee) and lovely little Dutch bar with outdoor seating. Across the laneway is the historic Dutch Hospital, now comprised off lovely restaurants and quality shops, popular with tourists. There is lots of courtyard seating, plus live music, really nice spot to eat and relax. We loved The Ceylon Curry Club so much we had lunch & dinner there the same day. Mister Crab is also very popular. Watch out for overly friendly locals who claim to work at your hotel or something similar - they are in cahoots with Tuk Tuk drivers and will try to persuade you to take a ride … then charge you an exorbitant fee. Ignore them and book your Tuk Tuk tour through a reputable source.

We were upgraded to a suite which was fabulous. So spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing.. Great variety, really fresh and beautifully cooked. The restaurant staff were really attentive and helpful. The restaurant manager was particularly helpful and engaging, giving us all kinds of tips and information about Colombo and travelling in sri lanka. We had a lovely stay.

A boutique business hotel in a very central location near the Old dutch Hospital area, Galle Face, and the Fort Railway station. The room was very clean and modern with a nice, large, comfy bed and a really nice bathroom with a shower. The room was accessible by a lift. Breakfast was not included in our tariff, but we tried the continental breakfast, and it was fine. We also ate in the dining room one evening and the food was good. The staff were friendly and helpful . We would stay again.

Our reserved room was upgraded, which is always a pleasant surprise. The room was large and clean, nicely decorated in modern style with a comfortable bed. The restaurant had Western, Indian and Sri Lankan dishes on offer for dinner, and we were especially impressed with the latter. The service was also excellent. Breakfast was OK and buffet style. The front desk staff agreed to keep our large bags while we toured around Sri Lanka for 12 days, so a special thanks for that service. The hotel is very well located for exploring the Colombo Fort area.

There are a variety of different bars and restaurants within the hotel so you can eat and drink what you want when you want. The swimming pool is great for cooling off, towels provided at the pool. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Other hotels might try to emulate the Galle Face with their modern colonial architecture but they do not have the same authenticity. With over 100 years experience in hospitality this hotel provides excellent service and superior accommodation. From the welcome given by the concierge service in their liveried cream jackets to the professional lifeguards at the 30m seawater pool, you are at once treated to an unforgettable stay here. Big thank you to Sujith for sorting out our upgrade and to Adja and his team for all their work at the pool. Already looking forward to our next stay here.

Beautiful, traditional hotel with a fabulous pool. Great location for exploring Colombo. Room was comfortable, immaculate, well-equipped with good shower. We ate at the dinner buffet once - tasty selection on offer. The In...On the Green Pub attached to the hotel and the tapas restaurant over the road are both highly recommended for drinks, good food and an excellent breakfast too.

Beautiful and historical hotel - amazing large salt water pool. The restaurants are great (we ate at the buffet for breakfast and lunch and the Cuban restaurant for dinner).

This hotel oozes quality and class. It has an array of restaurants, a pool, a beachfront aspect, a gym and is in a prime location on the seafront in the middle of the city. We stayed in a junior suite. The bed was enormous and the bathroom luxurious. We tried three of the restaurants - the food was good and the staff friendly.

Massive hotel with lots to do. There is something to do for all ages of guests. Rooms and bathroom are clean and big. The bed was so comfortable. The staff is so kind and helpful. Food was exceptionally good. Every single thing we tried was delicious . I would definitely come back here for the food alone. The pool area was the best part. My kids had a safe wading pool to play in. The area is surrounded by lush greenery and it’s so peaceful. We loved the spa too. The prices are reasonable and service is top notch.

Large but still friendly. Best location for Colombo. Staff remember names and preferences, especially the exec lounge staff and Gihan at the poolside. Room comfortable, facilities fine. Fantastic hotel breakfast with incredible variety, especially of Sri Lankan foods. Executive room worth the extra for the afternoon tea, cocktails and 4 laundry items over a 3 night stay. The pool and the garden are still the best. Now also featuring a banyan tree full of flying foxes so ideal for nature watching from your sun lounger.

OK, it's a 5 star hotel, so expectations are very high, but we found that it more than met our expectations. The 'Premium' room we had was great - a very large dual aspect corner room. The bed was large and extremely comfortable, the shower was great and the WiFi worked perfectly for us. Security was tight, which we felt was a good thing, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was large and the solarium had plenty of sunbeds, both in the sun and in the shade. We really enjoyed Cheers Bar for its Happy Hour and you are spoilt for choice with the on-site restaurants.

I stayed for a night after a two week journey and it was the perfect place to unwind and relax. After a late check in, we found the rooms to be in perfect condition and comfortable. We (group of 9) were allowed to enjoy the pool even after checking out the following morning and everything was clean and enjoyable. Dinner was lovely, with a big buffet. I would also like to mention and thank the two waiters Tharindu and Dasun for their kindness. definitely recommend

Very nice owner or manager (don't really know who he was), very friendly employees. Good standart for Sri Lanka breakfast. We didn't had time to spend in the swimming pool, but the view from the roof where pool is located is nice!

The room was very spacious and comfortable. The little pool was wonderful space to relax. The host was great – allowing us to stay at the pool after we checked out since our flight was late in the evening. Location is good as well – on a quite street.

I went with my lankan friends there because they recommended there pool side brunch good. And they were right. All the staff is so friendly and helpful. Food was so good. I love srilankan tastes very much. F&B and sport center staff was very nice. Special thanks for pool staff pathum or pethum (sorry if the name is wrong) for been so protective of us while we using pool as im not good at swimming. If im coming back to sri lanka Hilton residence is a definite place to visit

The Breakfast buffet was great and delicious. The apartment was clean, very wide and the view was amazing. You can see all of Colombo from the window! The pool was great especially the kids' pool. The Staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall it was an amazing stay.

We only stayed here one night but had an hour by the pool when we arrived before dinner. The pool area is amazing with a lifeguard. There were plenty of sunbeds. There is a spa but we didn't use it. Our room was a spacious 3 bedroom suite, no complaints except you couldn't go out on the balcony as the door was purposefully locked for safety reasons. There is only 2 lifts so it can take a while to go up/down if you are on a high floor. The breakfast was amazing, huge buffet.

Friendly helpful staff, sorted our rooms out despite our early arrival, really nice pool with adjacent kids play area, ice cream and bar service by the pool, excellent breakfast, centrally located so good step off for exploring Colombo, supermarket on the doorstep, good gym open 24/7 We booked a 3 bedroom suite with a kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine and drying area, kids had twin beds in their room and wife had her own room to recover from the flight.

The location in Colombo is very nice. The grounds are excellent... so green, and extensive. It is away from major traffic, so good air quality. It is near the sea, so u can walk out to the sea area, and enjoy clean air there. It is easy taking distance to Colombo Fort. The gym is GREAT, the pool and pool area very nice. The rooms were very good. The mattresses and bedding very nice. The Indian restaurant the prices were very good, and the service GREAT. The lobby bar prices were ridiculously high. It is interesting and comfortable. Overall service is great.

Great location with beautiful unobstructed views of the Gallface Greens and the Indian Ocean. Staff were friendly, but not all were welcoming or attentive. Was not very impressed by the food either. Well-kept lawn and grounds. Beautiful lobby. Beautiful, clean and impressive room (luxury sea view room). Impressive bathroom, but hot water was not hot around 9-10 pm both in the shower and also in the tub. Loved the pool area, though could not test it. Can recommend to others.

Breakfast yummy with lots of variety, rooms spacious and great mattress. Hubby said pool was great and staff professional and friendly. Hotel spotless! Casual meeting lobby area had nice cakes with afternoon tea (extra cost). Lounge was great for reading newspaper in quiet setting and perfect for pre drinks with our local friends who we were able to invite. His drinks were extra but this is fair and usual Lounge policy.

We had an amazing 3 nights at the Taj. The service staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was the best we have had with great variety and Indian curries, and yes we loved them for breakfast. They introduced us to local produce and we tried many new things. The pool was large and warm with nice sun lounges. The internal part of the hotel was wonderful, however the external could do with some work. We do know that is costly as it is a large hotel and did not stop us from having a great few days in Colombo.

There is gym and steam and sauna room in basement. There is bistro by the pool, thai and Chinese restaurant if one does not fancy buffet dinner. We enjoyed the bistro and the thai restaurant very much. Also enjoyed the library lounge. Excellent relaxing resort in the city.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel, but a great base for exploring columbo. Our daughter loved the pool that was open until late, and enjoyed night time swims after a day in the bustling city. The onsite gym and spa facilities were also great! Staff were helpful in organising transport around the city. The rooms were a bit tired, but we were happy to be upgraded to a poolside view, and loved the welcome drinks on arrival. We would definitely use again if we came back to Sri Lanka.

Pool bar food and drink were excellent and reasonably priced . Staff were polite and friendly. My kids loved the pool which was open till 9pm.. Very Nice hotel would recommend to anyone.

Nice property with a great pool and buffet breakfast. Number of restaurants available for lunch and dinner. Staff were exceptional. Only complaint is the volume of the DJ by the pool in the evening. Could hear him inside our rooms later at night

Rooms are well furnished but slightly tired as are the corridors. Hotel seems to focus on hosting large events which can mean the common areas are very busy and it is difficult to get attention from staff. Similarly, the pool area was not for relaxing and was being used to host an evening party. The hotel allowed me to move rooms away from one overlooking the pool to avoid the noise of the party.

The staff at this hotel are amazing - accommodating, friendly, professional and super helpful. The rooms were a little outdated decor-wise but the bed and linen were clean and super comfortable. The climate control was easy enough to make cooler/less cooler. The pool area was great - perhaps more active and vibrant than we had counted on. Though it quietened down each evening before too late. Food at the breakfast venue was impeccable - tasty, fresh and varied. The chefs were lovely, accommodating and so hospitable. We splashed out on a massage too - the staff there were great, as well.

Anthony was incredibly welcoming and helpful. My room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The House is in an excellent location near several great restaurants and coffee shops. It is set back from the main road so it is quiet and peaceful, and behind a locked gate so you feel safe. I was served an excellent, tasty Sri Lankan breakfast. They were able to keep my baggage after check out, until I was able to collect them. The House and grounds are spacious and thoughtfully designed and well maintained. There is a place to relax in the courtyard too.

I only managed to stay one night at De Saram House, which is a shame as I really liked the property. Admittedly it was initially somewhat hard to find it, but once you are inside, it is so calm and picturesque that it feels like an oasis from bustling Colombo. I have attached a bunch of photos to showcase the serenity of the place. Location-wise it is also excellent, being in a quieter neighborhood that is in walking distance from very nice cafes such as Caramel Pumpkin and Seed Cafe and restaurants such as Upali's. Room-wise it is large, quiet and well-appointed, though do not expect 5-star facilities such as phone in your room or a small fridge. Which leads to my main comment - despite its luxurious look, this is very much a small establishment run by just 2 staff members. It is not a 5-star hotel with expected services such as food and drinks available and staff service all day long. Price-wise it is also not the level of a 5-star hotel so those expectations are flawed from the start. Instead, what you get is a super beautiful estate and a well-appointed and quiet room, led by very kind staff members who try their best to help. I did have some initial wifi issues but they were resolved. Anthony was the person who attended to me at De Saram House, and he was professional, courteous and helpful - even when I had to check out a 4:45am to catch my flight. So if you know what to expect going in, this could be the perfect stay for you in Colombo .

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the hotel’s stunning aesthetic and thoughtful design—it truly felt like stepping into a serene retreat. Each morning began with a delightful breakfast featuring vibrant fresh fruit, fragrant tea, toast with delicious homemade jams, and a traditional Sri Lankan spread that was simply unforgettable. Anthony and the chef welcomed us with genuine warmth, making the experience feel deeply personal. Their hospitality extended beyond the dining table—they graciously gave us a tour of the house, sharing fascinating stories and local insights that added a rich layer to our stay. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and exceptionally comfortable. The entire property was spotless, and we were pleasantly surprised by how few insects we encountered, especially given the tropical setting. Despite our very late arrival, the team was there to greet us and ensure we settled in smoothly, which we truly appreciated. Overall, it was a peaceful, intimate, and memorable experience that far exceeded our expectations.

The aesthetic and design of the hotel was stunning. We enjoyed the breakfast with super delicious fresh fruit, tea, toast with yummy jams and Sri Lankan style omelette. The staff were friendly and it was so special being in such a small hotel that felt like a home. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel was spotlessly clean and I was impressed there we weren't many bugs.

The room was great,bed was very comfortable breakfast was delicious and staff were friendly and helpful. We would have liked a pool, otherwise all good.

We stayed one night in this hotel as part of an Intrepid tour of Sri Lanka, therefore did not choose it ourselves. This is a very centrally located hotel - to be honest we just crashed as we were on the final night of our tour and leaving early the following morning. It doesn't have a pool but my friend was staying in the Hilton so we walked round the corner to use the facilities there. We had dinner at the Shangri-La, which was a quick journey by tuk tuk, and there is a really nice bar next door. The room was very clean and comfortable, so I can't really fault it. Would I choose it myself? Probably not but only because it was hot and I prefer some outside space. If you're not bothered by this, then I'd recommend.

Clean and central. The robot room service was cool! The room was clean and comfortable. Fantastic hot shower and well equipped bathroom. Close to restaurants and coffee shop. Roof top restaurant had a great outdoor area with views. Staff were friendly and attentive. The laundry service was fantastic.

Overall, the hotel offered decent value for what I paid - good mid-priced choice of place to stay while exploring Colombo. The staff were friendly and always greeted you with a smile. The room was spacious enough, with sufficient variety of TV channels in English. The location was good for a first-time visitor to Colombo, within walking distance from Galle Face Green, and right across from the old Dutch Hospital. The variety on offer at the breakfast buffet is impressive, and they did vary some of what was served between the two days I had breakfast there. The rooftop restaurant where breakfast is served is also quite comfortable and has ample powerpoints available in case you need to charge any devices while having breakfast. The quality of the wifi was also good.

Bed was very very comfortable. Nice pillows. Clean. Enough closet space even for a longer stay. Also enough wall plugs for electronics. Good lighting inside the room. Comes with a bar fridge and kettle with tea and coffee options. Free water daily. Bathroom is clean. Great water pressure in the shower. Nice quality towels. Shower gel and shampoo are provided. The hotel is located in Colombo 1. About 20 minutes walk to Pettah Market and One Galle Face Mall and 25 minutes walk to Colombo Lotus Tower. Plenty of tuk-tuks outside the hotel that will get you there much quicker and cheaply (if you negotiate the fare upfront). Local eateries are less than 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. I'd definitely stay at the Fairway Colombo again.

Great location, nice room. Rooftop was excellent for a few drinks bought at a liquor store close by. They really should put a pool on the rooftop. Breakfast was minimal but it was a good stay.

There is no swimming pool in this hotel. The breakfast can be improved, current choices are limited. Rooms are small in size.

We checked into fair view very late after a long journey and instantly felt comfortable and relaxed as we fell into bed. We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast the next morning in the restaurant (amazing fish curry). The staff at reception were very helpful, informing us on our map of everywhere we might like to see in our short stay. They gave us a wake up call and organised a taxi for us for our checkout morning which was very helpful. Will definitely be back.

The hotel is in the financial district, close to the world trade centre buildings, it is not a typical tourist hotel, there is no swimming pool for example. However it is close to the sea and port area and there are a range of restaurants in the old Dutch hospital complex nearby. The office manager Mr Mahesh Kumarasena was particulary helpful to me on two occasions make extra effort to establish the location of my next hotel and helping with a hospital apointment. I would recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a central Colombo location

On checkin, the guy on Reception tried to make me pay twice even though it was prepaid through expedia. No pool, but there is an overpriced bar. If you want guests to drink there, you need to make the prices and atmosphere better than the many pubs very close by. 3 beds in the room is just weird!!!!

Nice for simple night stay, business trip or where sight seeing is your focus. Hotel does not have huge list of amenities like pool or gym. I'm not sure if business center exists but did not need. Some rooms are interior with NO Window to outside view...although there was a window to elevator verstibule, hallway area with big round table and kids doing homework.....I was in room 14. So yes it is cheaper room ...but just odd room with window to the corridor not the outside. Get a window room for a better experience which costs more so might as well get a better hotel. Aside from that the hotel looks and feels very swanky and posh. It has a Scottish theme that's pretty cool to look at. Restaurant has good food with prices that are average to bit overpriced. Overall not bad...with $30 - 50 cheaper rooms than other 3-4 star hotels nearby the downtown district. 3-4 kilometers south toward Galle beach = much better value with 4-5 star hotels cheaper than this one.... but of course location location location The Stuart is in central district walk distance to train station and the Dutch Hospital district with bars, cafes and restaurants all over the place. Although you can always use aTuk Tuk or Uber from galle beach hotel for about 150-200 rupees (July 2017).

Family of 4 adults, we had very big rooms city view. We were told we were upgraded from courtroom view to city view. Not really sure on that as I’m sure courtyard view would have been quieter. Although city view were higher prices. Our rooms faced the bars but I was ok with that. Rooms were very big very clean. Big bathroom and massive bed. Tea and coffee in our rooms. The hotel is right opposite burger king and KFC is round the corner if thats your thing. Right opposite the hotel is a nice pub restaurant, with very reasonable prices on food and drink . Views of Twin towers and the lotus Tower from our room. 10 minutes walk from Fort railway station. Which we did with big cases. Very Flat and easy to navigate using google maps. We only stayed 1 night as had spent 3 weeks Travelling round Sri Lanka. This hotel was our last stop off before getting an Uber to the airport. I would have been more than happy to stay at this hotel if we had stayed longer In Colombo . Hope this review helps someone.

Lovely and clean little pool, wich is nice when the sea is too wild (beach is not directly in front of the hotel but some steps to the left or the right across a very small road). Very nice and helpful staff! Special service: Manager Dinesh drives you to/from the airport for free (half hour drive) and helps you organize whatever tour you like to do. Absolutely recommendable for the first or last one or two nights!

The hospitality was exceptional. Mr Dinesh recieved us at airport in the middle of night. Great service. When my child got sick he took her to hospital also. A very kind gesture from the hotel was they arranged for special food for my daughter during her illness. The location of the hotel is simply excellent. It's right on the beach and the humongous windows of the room augment the beach view experience. Wifi is good and the pool is cozy. Would 100% recommend. Everything was taken care by Mr Dinesh. We stayed here for one night on arrival before starting a few weeks travelling in Sri Lanka. Wonderful very large and very clean, well presented room with sea views. WiFi in the rooms is not great... The hotel is close to the airport and there is free pick up and drop off service. There is a garden across the road, with tables and chairs (but we were not made aware of this until leaving). There is a safe natural sea pool just across from the hotel and you can walk for quite a distance. There is also a small pool but no loungers or anywhere to sit by it. We had dinner in the hotel. The prawns were delicious but the seafood mix was not the best. The manager Dinesh goes out of his way to help and arrange any trips you may want. Dinesh arranged a tour of Colombo and the driver/ guide, Avishka was excellent, a very pleasant guy. He also took us to the main Dialog mobile shop for a Sim card, which was great value compared to the airport. Overall for the price, this hotel is ideal for your first night on arrival or last night before departing the next day from the airport. (excluding the extra charge we had for early check-in).

We loved our stay here and our host Gamini was so friendly and welcoming, he’s very kind and helped me quickly sort out my problem when I arrived and found I’d left my passport at the Airport sim-card stall! Our room spotlessly clean, large and airy with a comfortable bed and good air con and outside the room we had chairs and a table to relax and enjoy the view into the inner patio garden full of interesting greenery .There was also an open lounge in that area which guests can use, and a happy smiling Golden Retriever called Max! We had a very tasty and plentiful breakfast each day on the terrace, and an excellent dinner in the Poke 65 restaurant upstairs. Thanks to the restaurant staff too! The property is amazingly peaceful and quiet considering it is only yards from a very busy and noisy main road next to the beach and railway line. We highly recommend this hotel and thank Gamini and his staff for a truly memorable stay!

We loved our stay at Sayura House, it was the perfect oasis that was still quite close to everything we needed but tucked away and feeling like a little slice of paradise for us to rest and recoup. Gemini and the team were extremely warm, welcoming and helpful during our short stay and we really appreciated their attentiveness and kindness. The night staff member was also quite helpful during our stay. The restaurant upstairs had a fresh and delicious menu with food that was light and tasty. We also enjoyed our breakfast. The room itself is thoughtfully laid out with lovely little touches. The bed was comfy and we were thankful for the AC and fan on a couple of hot nights! The property itself is beautiful wherever you go. It’s well worth going up the spiral staircase to the upper rooftop to take in the ocean view. Thank you to Gamini and team at Sayura House!

We arrived at 6 a.m., completely exhausted after our flight, and the hotel kindly let us relax on a peaceful terrace while waiting for our room. Even though our check-in was supposed to be at 2 p.m., they allowed us to check in much earlier so we could take a shower and leave our luggage — which we really appreciated. The staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast was delicious, with three different options to choose from. The next day we were traveling to Sigiriya, and the hotel arranged a taxi that took us directly to our next destination, everything went smoothly. There’s really nothing negative to say — highly recommended! The location is a bit outside of Colombo, but that was exactly what we needed: a quiet place away from the noise of the city. It’s right in front of the sea (even though there’s no beach), and very relaxing. There are also many great restaurants along the main street nearby

We were fortunate to stay in one of the newly refurbished rooms with a separate shower room. The decor was stylish and contemporary. Good wifi, very comfortable bed, and very quiet even though our door opened on to the main courtyard where guests gathered to relax or eat. Our room and facilities were spotlessly clean, and the toiletries were high quality. Our concierge was extremely helpful, setting us up with the PickMe app so we could access cheap, reliable tuktuks, and recommending a great local restaurant where we could sample authentic Sri Lankan food. The whole property has a lovely ambience, relaxed and friendly. There are three breakfast options available, and there is also a rooftop restaurant (Poke 65) which serves poke salad bowls, Italian dishes and several other options. The waterfront is 100m away, and Colombo centre is about 350LKR by tuktuk (approx $2AUD). A lovely boutique hotel and great value for money.

The hotel surprised us. Really! :) The room is quite big. It is so clean! There was everything we needed: a comfortable queen size bed, a desk and a chair, a fridge and a kettle, some bottles of water and AC. Also, the bathroom is perfect! It is very clean and well equipped! There is a big, modern mirror with the light, a hair dryer (but it didn't work), a big shower with hot water and lots of white towels, nice washbasin. The staff is really nice people, very kind, friendly and helpful! They speak English well! And there weren't any insects in the room and near by. The price was not so high for what we had in our opinion. The area is quite nice. There are a lot of supermarkets and local cafes.

I recently stayed at the hotel and I must say I was impressed with my experience. The room was clean and up to standard with a well-maintained bathroom. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The value for money was great, especially considering the good location of the hotel. I was also pleased to find a kettle and tea/coffee packets in the room, a small but thoughtful touch. The only downside was that the TV didn't work at all times and the WiFi connection was slow, but it did not ruin my stay overall. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay.

The room was very spacious and the bathroom was quite big too. Very clean premises and comfortable stay. The host, Anuradha was great and had a well of information to share about everything in and around the place. We checked out pretty late in the night and all the staff was very helpful to make sure we were comfortable and safe.

Tucked in a quiet neighborhood, the room was nice and super spacious with a great shower. We also had a very early check-in, and the owner was most kind and helpful, accommodating us in so many ways. Breakfast was the real star—every morning, the owner whipped up different Sri Lankan dishes that were so delicious.

A very modern and aesthetically pleasing hotel with extremely professional staff from the concierge to the restaurant staff. The room itself was modern, minimalistic providing excellent comfort. The hotel is very secure with guests being scanned at the entrance with entry only being limited to guests and visitors under request. We found it convenient to have Colombo City Centre mall attached to hotel which meant easier access to shops, however this did also mean that the hotel area could get quite busy. The hotel boasted a multi-cuisine breakfast buffet catering to a wide range of palettes. The premises and facilities were always exceptionally clean. House keeping were also prompt to tend to requests. The infinity pool is definitely one to enjoy with a beautiful view of the city.

The hotel is in a very central location in Colombo, near all the main attractions. It features a beautiful pool which comes in handy if you want to relax after arriving. The staff was nice enough to allow us to use the pool before our check in time. The breakfast buffet is extremely well stocked with international and Sri Lankan options.

Our stay here was wonderful, the staff were very attentive and help us. The we asked to be soften but found it a little hard. The pool area needed more umbrella’s & sun lounges and some W pool music.

Crisp, clean and comfortable room. Desk staff very polite and very helpful. Overall staff was very hospitable. Breakfast spread was good with both continental and Asian options. Pool area was great and very relaxing, overlooking Colombo city center. Would definitely consider staying again when in Colombo.

This is a beautiful, clean, comfortable, efficient hotel. While it is your typical Marriott business hotel, the pool, restaurant and lobby bar make it feel more like a holiday hotel. Staff couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. The hairdryer in the room is excellent.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience! The rooftop restaurant is perfectly located, offering great views and a relaxing ambiance. The coffee was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious with a good variety. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. A special mention to Geeth at reception—he was so kind and always smiling. He went above and beyond to help me find some great places to visit in Sri Lanka. Every time I visited the reception area, I was warmly welcomed, making me feel truly at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with exceptional hospitality!

I had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. Upon arrival, we faced an unfortunate situation where our wallet and passports were left behind in the taxi. Despite not having any payment ready, the hotel staff were incredibly understanding and allowed us to check in without any issues. They saw that we were women traveling with a child and kindly made an exception, which we truly appreciated. The room itself had a beautiful view of the Lotus Tower, which was a pleasant surprise. The location of the hotel was also perfect, as taxis and autos were easily available in the area, making it convenient to explore the city. It was also within walking distance to many well-rated restaurants and popular sightseeing spots in Colombo, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent service, convenient location, and stunning views.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The entire place was spotless and very well maintained, which immediately made me feel comfortable. The manager was excellent and always ready to help, and the staff in general were polite, attentive, and welcoming. What truly made my experience special, however, was the kindness of Geeth. He went above and beyond to organize a trip for me, which gave me the chance to discover a beautiful side of Sri Lanka that I will never forget. His thoughtfulness and dedication made my stay not just enjoyable, but truly memorable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area – not only for its cleanliness and professionalism, but also for the genuine hospitality.

The sky bar on the rooftop had a lovely pool with loungers. There was also a terrace bar with sea view and an AC dining area overlooking the pool. The staff were very attentive and the prices were very reasonable.

I had an excellent experience staying at Pearl Grand by Rathna. It's somewhat of an undiscovered treasure, especially when you consider its affordability and the building's age. The hotel provides all the essentials, including outstanding WiFi. The coffee shop downstairs is perfect for getting some work done, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. Although the gym is small, it offers enough space to get moving, and the pool and rooftop are perfect for cooling down.

I was welcomed by the whole staff. My flight arrived early and they rushed through a room clean up and had me installed in a room two hours before check in time. The staff here are exceptional. From the bell hops, the reception staff, the cafe staff, the waiters, bar staff, housekeeping , and chefs really looked out for my needs and wants. They always greeted me with a smile. The facilities are great with room service, pool and the sky bar as extras that cost no extra. They had a cleaning service that was quick and professional.

Very good location in Colombo with a great view of sea from the room. Clean and comfortable beds, good size family room with lot of space and seating area. Amazing view of Indian Ocean from the room. Polite and helpful staff, roof top restaurant and ground floor restaurant with delicious food. General manager Priyantha had a chat with us to see if our needs were met while we are there. Thuwan and the staff were very helpful, Dalsi from the restaurant made sure that we have all that we need while dining.

The room was comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Ease of access. Breakfast was fine. Exceptional views. Tuan at the reception desk, was very very accommodating and helpful which is why we extended our stay here. Tuan made it possible for us to extend the stay here. The other staff at reception were very friendly, Delsi in the cafe was very obliging and friendly. The tall doorman whose name begins with an S (Samath something?) was very kind and polite, even helped us cross the road.

My flight was landing at 1 am. after a rather long flight. I arranged with my tour agent to book a simple hotel for some rest before starting our tour. He booked me one night and managed to ask for early check-in at 2 am. with breakfast for two for an extra 20$!! The receptionist was waiting for us, and Bell Boy got our bags, we were asleep very soon on our comfortable bed. We woke up to the beautiful ocean view. The room is spacious with a bit old furniture. Kettle with tea and coffee with 2 bottles of water. The fridge was locked, and we called the receptionist, who sent the bellboy to unlock. Comfort room is good, but there were black molds on the ceiling, probably from leaking toilet above. We could observe the street, people fishing and relaxing on the shore and the passing trains, and best of all the sunset from your bed. Luckily, it was soundproof, and street and train noise didn't trouble us. Breakfast buffet has limited items but was adequate. Eggs can be ordered. House keeping was emotionless and can't understand or speak or communicate with guests. Looks very much depressed. We had the chance to see the sunset from the roof which was awesome.

This comfortable homestay is truly a home away from home. Everything worked, the bed was very comfortable and the room clean and neat. The use of a communal kitchen made preparing breakfast and other meals very convenient. James, AKA 007, can littery make any wish come true. He was an exceptional host, kind patient and extremely helpful. Throughout my entire Sri Lankan trip he kept in touch to see if I needed assistance with anything. This was a very touching experience. The owner was also very helpful and even bought airtime for me. This homestay is great value for money. I will definitely be back. Thank you for making my trip an an amazing experience.

Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful staff ever, Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

It's not special, but it is still not your budget option. Won't save you a lot of money, but won't make your stay fabulous either. It's basic: safe, comfortable enough, has all you need, but on a basic level. Can't complain, but don't expect anything extraordinary. The staff were very nice and friendly! All in all - I would recommend it, unless you want something fancy and luxurious. The location is nice, too: right next to Mount Lavinia beach, a lovely beach with a number of good restaurants in the vicinity. It is far from the Bandaranaike airport, though (an hour long ride).

Staff is very helpful, owner is super loyal, he even provided a room for me before getting mine as I checked in at night, which also was not a problem for him to welcome me so early in the morning. There is a common kitchen which u can use for cooking and it’s empty almost all the time, hotel is pretty spacious also. Rooms and kitchen r clean, beach is 2 min walking, nice, clean and beautiful. Its a bit of a local area of Colombo, but a Bus station is very near to travel to center of the city. Many shops r around too. Highly recommended.

We were most impressed with Colombo Court Hotel, particularly the staff, always attentive and helpful throughout our stay. Whilst the pool is small, it was very welcome, especially in the morning. The poolside bar gave the option of cool drinks and enjoyable food and the restaurant, whilst not well supported, provided us with an enjoyable meal on one night of our stay. The "happy hour" in the loft bar was very welcome and drinks on the roof, after dark were pleasant. Summing up, a quiet oasis, made so much more pleasurable by a very enthusiastic and friendly staff. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The hotel was exactly as in pictures, clean spacious room and lovely pool to cool off on. Balcony overlooked the pool. Breakfast menu was extensive and catered to all. We also ate at the restaurant and it was tasty - slightly more expensive than of you ate outside but great after a long flight.

Fab pool. Great staff, all very helpful, professional and friendly. Food by the pool was really good.

Beautiful colonial hotel tastefully decorated and lit. We arrived early and the staff were super accommodating to help us to our Royal Suite early. The room had a super comfy bed and pillows, bathroom with plunge bath and separate shower. Also a lounge area and balcony/patio. Pool is a quiet, calm place. Excellent breakfast

We had a wonderful time. Hotel is beautifully decorated, the room had everything you would need and more (very comfortable bed) and the food was delicious. The pool was perhaps the only small let down - it didn’t get much sun. There were lots of little touches which made the stay more enjoyable, such as plenty of bottled water, fresh flowers and toiletries.

A beautiful building, done up in a slightly over-the-top, very dark and plush style. Quiet, tucked away in one of Colombo's nicest neighbourhoods, it's a great hide away if you can afford it - or find a last-minute deal. The staff are extremely helpful and the food is good - and it even has a very swimmable pool.

55TG Boutique Suites is a perfect oasis in the wonderful chaos of Colombo. The property is sparkling clean, beautifully decorated and very cool in both meanings of the word. The salt water pool is an additional bonus on a hot steamy day. The substantial delicious breakfast served in the garden was a great way to start the day. The best thing about this lovely place by far were the team that look after you. Polite, personable, friendly and kind they demonstrate outstanding customer service - it was actually a little sad to say goodbye. I do hope to return again.

This was the most unique accomodation we stayed at on the whole trip. I've read in some other reviews this was a hidden gem, and a gem it is! We got a room upgrade just because, the breakfast was amazing, the pool and sauna area really nice and the staff super attentive! Great relaxing time in Colombo before taking our flight back home. Wish we could have stayed longer! :)

I was a bit hesitant to book at first due to a negative review about missing belongings, but we didn’t face any issues and felt completely safe throughout our stay. There’s a restaurant on-site, though we didn’t try it. Barista and Pizza Hut are right next door, which was super convenient. Plenty of parking is available, and it’s monitored by security. I’d definitely recommend this place and would happily book again.

My recent stay at Hatch House was the perfect fusion of comfort and functionality during a business trip to Colombo. Opting for an overnight stay to accommodate a series of meetings and a desire to work late into the night, Hatch House provided an ideal setting, sparing me the hassle of hopping between cafes or the bustle of coworking spaces. Hatch House lived up to its promise of high-speed internet, a crucial factor for my work requirements. The generous desk/ledge extending along half a wall provided ample workspace, offering a quiet and dedicated environment for focused work. While the room provides basics for tea and coffee, it's important to note that only one water bottle is provided daily. If you require additional supplies, 'Glomark' on the ground floor is a convenient option for purchasing essentials. Concerning dining options, there's a Barista on-site, and they offer room service upon request. Hatch House also recently opened a new restaurant and bar. For a broader culinary experience, consider using Uber Eats to order from a variety of Colombo's top restaurants if the hotel's options don't meet your preferences. What keeps me coming back (7 times and counting) is the consistent service. Anthony and the front desk team are on point, always ready to assist. Highly recommended!

The rooms are modern, spacious and equipped with all essential amenities. It would be even better if they could provide a mini fridge in the rooms. Wifi internet connection provided a stable speed around 25Mbps. The gym offers a good selection of machines and weights. Just remember to reserve a slot, especially if you plan on using it early in the morning or late at night. I must also commend the staff; they were incredibly friendly and helpful.

A beautiful quaint hotel very close to the beach. The staff has been excellent helpful friendly. Rooftop pool, breakfast included. there is a bar and restaurant here at the hotel. Also a small café. Our housekeeper has been especially helpful. His name is.Dulara Kasal.

The location is really good. The pool is on TOP of the roof. Very nice views from there. The sunset was great. The staff is great. Super friendly and helpful. All smiles. Our first room was close to the elevator and it bothered me. After talking to them they moved us to a very quite and bigger room. So nice. The breakfast is very delicious. The chicken curry is so good. I will def stay here again. Btw, you can bring your own booze to the TOP and have it there. How cool is that?

Central location for a very reasonable price. Walk to Galle Face Green, Liberty Plaza, 1 Galle Face mall. Staff was incredibly helpful. Bathrooms had rain shower head and spray in case you prefer more pressure (which I do). Beautiful pool - didn't get to take advantage of it due to the rain, but lovely. Restaurant was delicious - would have preferred if there was more local cuisine but there are plenty of options for that nearby.

A beautiful iconic hotel, has a really special atmosphere. The staff are faultless across the board, professional, high standards but also nicely friendly and informal. Seem to take real pride in their jobs. Amazing breakfast and the buffet at evening. Beach and swimming pool were perfect. The direct ocean view is beautiful although the rooms are quite old fashioned, but very comfortable. There are some other more modern rooms I believe. I would definitely return to this stylish and iconic hotel.

Every time I come to Sri Lanka I have to stay at the Mount Lavinia Hotel because of the views, food and friendly staff. The views from rooms and the pool terrace across to Colombo city are magnificent. The food, prepared by world renown Chef Publis, is amazing every time with such a variety. All staff offer a friendly greeting and warm smile, particularly the doormen, restaurant greeter Mr Wijisinghe, Guest Services Manager, Tashani, and the ever-smiling bartender, Kalana. Waiters and waitresses in the restaurant are also always so pleasant. A great place to stay.

The location is great, you can see and hear the sea nearby and I had a splendid view from my balcony. Two ladies at the reception were very nice and helpful in giving me a nice room and helped organizing my outings, Thilakshana always friendly and ready to help and give advice. After two weeks of traveling around Sri Lanka, we wrapped up our holiday with three nights at the Lake Lodge and it was the perfect spot to end our trip. The location is very convenient to shopping, good restaurants, the National Museum and other points of interest. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and quiet with a lovely contemporary design. It’s a small hotel that has a very relaxed atmosphere. The breakfasts were good and they worked with us to accommodate our dietary restrictions. While we didn’t eat any other meals there, we did order a couple of desserts (the coconut ice cream and the buffalo curd) and both were delicious! We also especially loved the welcome popsicles which were so tasty and a terrific alternative to the typical welcome drink we were served at other places. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. Special thanks to Prasad and Sathivel for all their help and recommendations while we were there! We highly recommend this property! It’s a perfect place to stay in Colombo!

This is an excellent small, boutique hotel in the heart of Colombo- but down a small lane so it feels like an oasis from the hustle and bustle. The staff were all excellent , really friendly and attentive. The rooms were very comfortable. We only ate breakfast here but it was delicious. It was also relaxing to order a couple of drinks from the bar and sit out on the terrace. We did not regret booking this hotel at all and I would thoroughly recommend it.

I don't understand some of the low scores because there's nothing wrong with this hotel. No, it's not like the cozy Guesthouses you find elsewhere in the country, but it's a spotless clean typical big city basic budget hotel like the ones you find elsewhere in the world. Basic, big enough room with a bed and a desk. Lots of power outlets to charge all your gadgets. The common bathrooms were kept clean at all times, and there were so many of them on each floor. A nice common room with tables and chairs, free tea and coffee, a nice rooftop sitting area, and excellent WiFi (to be Sri Lanka anyway). Friendly staff too. Superb location right in the thick of things in the Fort. Restaurants and bars literally on their doorstep.

Great location. Very convenient to the Railway Station, Bus Stand, and other tourist places in Colombo. Close to Galle Face for dining. Facility is neat and clean and well maintained. The room is slightly small in size but neat and clean. The Restroom/bathroom was clean with nice hot water shower and hygiene facilities. Staff is very nice, kind and friendly personal with always big smile. Easy check-in and check-out process with the acceptance of credit card for payment. The room comes with Coffee/Tea kettle, drinking water bottle, small fridge and locker that an added benefit. Good Aircon. Great value for money.

For the cheap price it is very good accommodation. It has amazing location – walking distance to the bus and train station. Staff is nice and helpful, toilets are clean, AC works and it is quiet. Room is clean without windows so there is not noise from outside. You can make a tea in the kitchen. WiFi works perfectly.

I had a great stay there! I booked 3 nights, the Hostel is very close to the city center of Colombo and also close to the Galle Face Beach. The Room was clean, the Bed very comfortable and the bathroom was also clean. During the night it was quiet, so I could rest easily. The Rooftop is also nice to have a little chat with others. The Staff is kind and they helped me with all my questions. They are really nice.

At first when we were booking this place we were concerned about safety and cleanliness. But once we reached the hotel we were relieved. I hope he was the reservation manager, who was so polite and professional with us. Also the staff are friendly and helpful. As women, I recommend this place, you'll feel comfortable and safe during your stay. The room was clean and Air conditioning worked well, there was a heater, was able to make tea and coffee, it was so helpful. there was a mini refrigerator too. Bathroom was small, but it was clean. Beds were comfortable. We stayed for a night and it was great. The location was near by for station. You can book a car or cab or a tuk tuk from pick me to reach the place. It was easy to reach the place. We definitely recommend this hotel, for women who are concerned about their safety and security and cleanliness of the place. We recommend this place. When it's needed, will surely book this place again 👍🏻

Extremely friendly people work at the Port View City Hotel and they love their work. You can feel that as a guest. Generous continental breakfast buffet including Sri Lankan curries. The room was clean with a very good service. Because of our fixed departure time, the owner arranged breakfast for us 30 minutes earlier. Price/performance is in favor of the guest. This centrally located hotel is highly recommended.

Hotel upgraded our 2 bedrooms type to 3 bedrooms type. The sea view is sooooo beautiful. Not so many bugs in room, and it is a clean and cozy flat. At first we met some problems in the upgraded room (no quilts on the beds, no glass was embeded into the window in bathroom, etc.), but staff are very helpful and solved for us quickly. I especially thank to Raju, Malan, Rukshan, and the guard Sanam. The breakfast is clean and delicious. Of course the manager in restaurant where we had breakfast is also kind. We had some causal talks. The surprise is that chief in restaurant cut our king coconuts into cute animal shape.

A beautiful property with amazing staff. The location is outstanding. Within few mins walk of restaurants, banks, and supermarket. The biggest highlight is the staff of this property. Every single staff from the check-in counter, security and house keeping are all extremely polite and courteous. Big thanks to Mr. Raju at the front desk for going out of his way to help me with everything I need. Also the security officer at the gate disserves a big hats off for his proffessionalism and always greeting you with a huge smile. The property is spotless and neatly maintained. We booked our stay at Marina Suites and from the get go we were greeted by Mr. Raja who had a beaming smile and a gregarious and friendly personality. He was super helpful always ready to guide offer assistance where needed and ran the outfit with his staff like a captain who masters his troops. The staff are polite, helpful, always keen to help be it room service related aspects or even cab bookings. The security is such a sweet man with a smile when you enter or leave the premises. The rooms were clean, equipped with amenities . And the ocean view is stunning. If at all i had one tenny tiny grip is that one room of the 3 bedroom apartment didn’t have an aircon. Other than that absolutely nothing. i thank Mr. Raja for making our stay most comfortable and hassle free. I look forward to coming again and would recommend Marina Suites to my friends and family. The Villa Raha is a huge 3-storey family villa converted into a B&B. The family does not actually live on site but staff are on hand 24 hours. What distinguishes this from other small guest-houses? It is located in a quiet side-street off a main road (Duplication Rd and the parallel Galle Rd that leads direct to the 5-star hotel area - a 10 minute ride by tuk-tuk/taxi). Convenient to town, it has about 6 to 8 rooms. It is newly renovated with an eye on exquisite and tasteful interior design and artwork throughout. The rooms are simply huge, with a lounge, a writing desk and excellent wifi, in addition to Apple TV, lots of channels, huge screen, etc. Huge bed, fresh linen. The bathroom is very spacious with quality shower-fittings and lots of hot water. The breakfast area is delightful (especially the huge banyan tree that is growing in the middle of it!). Amazingly there is also a swimming pool to cool off! Best of all is the very helpful and friendly youthful owner and his staff. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed. Would stay there again.

Lovely small hotel where the rooms are amazingly huge. Staff are friendly and helpful. Take time to look round Colombo as it’s a great city and very safe. Good food for breakfast. Would recommend.

Clean, large rooms for a reasonable price. Good service by all staff members and prompt room service food delivery with large menu. Good breakfast buffet added on for a reasonable price. Unfortunately there was a poor view from the pool as a larger storey hotel/apartment is being built directly overlooking the pool that prevents a view of the sea and was noisey during our stay. Also, only 4 sun loungers.

The building work spoils thd view from the pool and balcony which is unfortunate but not the fault of the Mandarina. No mango at breakfast and limired fresh juices.

Hotel could benefit from some TLC. Swimming pool pictures are misleading and the view of the sea has been obscured by a high rise building site. Breakfast buffet was nice.

The hotel staff went above and beyond for us especially Ananda who works in the gym and pool area! He was so efficient, and so kind to our children. He was wonderful and so friendly and helpful! Please do pass on this message to him. From Audrey, Jack, Bryan and Henrietta Quarterman.

This is a fancy place, the lobby reminded me of a cruise ship. There was even live music! The swimming pool is large and pristine, and you can watch a variety of birds in the river while you soak in the pool. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the facilities are first class and the dinner buffet is amazing.

We stayed here the first night of our trip. We arranged with the hotel for a transfer from the airport which was really handy. The staff were all very helpful, and the room was spacious, quiet and dark - just what we needed after a long flight. The pool and grounds were nice too, with the pool staying open quite late. We ate at one of the four onsite restaurants, Long Feng, which was good - but we way over ordered so beware. All in all a good stay, handy location for us for the getting the train the next day too.

Central Colombo hotel overlooking the lake with a large pool area. The staff are very welcoming and the hotel has a high standard of cleanliness. The breakfast buffet and evening buffet are vast and tasty. There are 2 other restaurants in the hotel which are also pretty good although not as highly rated as restaurants in the other Cinnamon hotels. Gym, Lobby bar and the Library bar all good. There are renovations to one area of the hotel just now but these didn’t cause any problems at all with our stay.

We had a room on the Executive Floor. Very comfortable but had no balcony. There was a balcony area off the communal lounge area which was nice. The Hotel itself is quite large and the pool in the afternoon gets very crowded and as it is very shallow the water becomes very hot and uncomfortable. The Buffett breakfast and dinner were all good with a great selection of food. The security at the Hotel was high with every bag being scanned upon entry and people being scanned when returning to the Hotel. Overall a comfortable stay.

I’ve been a proud member of this bar for 30 years, and it never ceases to amaze me! friendly staff specifically Thusitha and Malinda who know you by name and always make you feel welcome. The music sets the perfect mood every time, from lively nights to relaxed evenings and delicious foods. It’s rare to find a place that keeps its charm and quality for decades, but this bar does it effortlessly. This is my favorite spot and enjoy playing pool .

Breakfast is poor. It is better that the hotel makes alternative arrangement for breakfast. Or just limit the breakfast to tea/coffee and continental breakfast and inform the guests accordingly

LOVELY, friendly HOSTS. Clean, air conditioned rooms, overlooking a play ground. Great attached restaurant. Lovely seafood restaurant at the bottom of the roads and across the rail lines. Easy access to taxis, main road is a walk away with all shops and amenities.

Day time receptionist lady did warm welcome and friendly. Room same as Booking.com website. Very spacious. Bathroom is very clean as new. Near Shanmugavillas veg restaurant. Walking distance to Wellawatte shops. I recommend to this hotel to book.
