The bedroom was lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was huge. There was a great balcony, from which we could see the pool. The staff were helpful and very respectful and we enjoyed the breakfast. Short walk from the beach and with a great pool too.

We had a great deal for our stay, and had a room upgrade (triple room with balcony), but the hotel was amazing, especially being the last on our trip. Especially compared with the other types of places we stayed on the trip (smaller hotels, homestays), this was such a comfortable and beautiful room! Clean, AC, good Wi-Fi, amazing “outdoor” bathroom, relaxing pool, and good location next to the beach. I can’t comment on the regular breakfast, but we were leaving for the airport at 05:30 and the staff prepared us an early breakfast, we felt welcomed and well taken care of.

The room design/layout, the bathroom/outdoor shower, the balcony view of the garden, the well kept garden, the pool, the delicious breakfast (specially the hoppers and the fish curry!), the friendly/helpful staff, and the location (few meters away from the beach, the bites snack cafe and shops/restaurants). And wildlife (birds, and even monkeys!) Loved it!!!

Aurora is one of those places that exceeds your expectations! Very spacious and beautiful rooms, nice pool, gorgeous garden, delicious breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. It is just off the main road and therefore very quiet, however the beach is a 3 minute walk and a few more minutes to the street with all the restaurants and shops.

First of all, in reality AURORA is much more beautiful than on the pictures! Rooms are very spacious and cozy, bathrooms on the floor amazing, balconies with the view on the green plants - just wow! AC perfectly working. Hot water with great pressure. Breakfasts were tasty, with fruits, toasts, fried eggs, fresh juice. Swimming pool - really nice. And of course AURORA Team - so nice, helpful and always smiling :) Our little son Theo loved them so much!

Amazing! Great buffet breakfast, 5 mins walk from the beach, very clean with pool and garden, very accommodating staff. The owner, Sumith, is just amazing. He was very attentive and kind and really went the extra mile. I wanted to try woodapple fruit, and he specifically included it in the breakfast the next day. He provides transport to the beaches nearby and talks with you as a friend. I felt like home. I would not hesitate to stay again. Best Hotel in sri lanka 🇱🇰 👌 😍 Thank you so much.

Personal was really extraordinarily nice, friendly and always helpful. The pool was great. For breakfast there was always a large selection of fruit, vegetables and always a new selection of various goodies. It was just a few steps to the nearest beach and also the town. True, with the need of little dramatic crossing over a busy road. (Although the hotel is located on busy road, we havent heard single sound in our room. The room was really quiet, clean, nice smelling, airconditioned).

We were made to feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Sumith and his team were wonderful and the chef served a wonderful breakfast and we had the best Sri Lanka curry whilst there. The hotel is so close to the beach, towels and mats are provided. The swimming pool was perfect for us, clean and relaxing, free rides to local beaches and Galle were available and the hotel is beautiful with interesting artefacts. The highlight was to meet Sumith's family and hear his niece serenade us. THANK YOU

Service was outstanding. The family running the place are so lovely and make you feel at home right away. There is a lot of thought and detail put into the customer experience. Location is great. Close to beach and easy to walk to everything. The free morning shuttle to turtle or jungle beach is a great addition. Room was clean and comfortable. Pool is nice and big and a great spot to chill out. Recommend!

This property truly exceeded our expectations. The infinity pool overlooking the breathtaking scenery was an absolute highlight. We especially appreciated the courtesy staff who went above and beyond to make my brother's birthday a memorable occasion. As a vegetarian family, we were initially concerned about dining options. However, the kitchen staff were incredibly accommodating, creating delicious and healthy breakfast alternatives that surpassed our expectations. The property itself is teeming with wildlife, with numerous birds and animals spotted throughout our stay.

Great villa, amazing jungle, the territory is big and clean, nice and clean pool. The view from the balcony is amazing. Air conditioner worked well, the room itself very spacious. Nice restaurant.

We really like the place. Great room, beds, garden and pool. And quiet surrounding. Also the breakfast was nice. and the staff was very helpful. Our young kids felt safe and free to run around and were happy. We didn't make use of the diner als the vegetarian option was not that great and the diner quite expensive, but we found a really nice local restuarant BiteMe in Heenatigala, that served really nice local food, had great atmosphere and was only a 5 minute tuck tuck ride away. Also Wijaya Beach was 15 minutes away with a good pizza restaurant.

The room was excellent, comfortable, stylish. Staff where so helpful, they ran out with umbrellas for us in the pooring rain. The chef is absolutely amazing, we ate the best chicken wings of our lives!! Thank-you to Shafras who works there for ensuring a comfortable stay. Staff friendly and easy going. Location is a bit far from town but worth it, right in the jungle with monkeys around, silent when you wake up, only a few rooms so never too many people around the pool. Very clean.

Super kind and friendly staff. Location is in the middle of nowhere but its perfect for retreat. They had good food menu, drinks and spa. You can book a massage or some other cosmetic treatment. Breakfast is tasty. Swimming pool is just amazing! Rooms are big and well maintained. From the accomodation they offer tuktuk for around 1500 lkr to Unawatuna.

The best hotel to finished your trip! We saved this hotel for the end because his beauty and because we wanted hotel at the end that combined everything all in once, that way we could stay in the hotel without leaving hotel’s property. The hotel is outstanding! His beautiful, the rooms, the lake view, the infinity pool… basically everything!!!!!!!!!! The food is delicious, breakfast is wow, and the restaurant at night has so very special and delicious food!

Secluded, peaceful spot with an incredible vista and wonderful staff. The place has been designed with a lot of thought and it really has everything you need - comfortable bedrooms, a gym, a library, infinity pool and a good restaurant on site. You can also head via tuk tuk to local town for bars and restaurants.

What a beautiful setting and the rooms were stunning as well as spacious. Stayed in the cinamon tower with great views to start and moved into a sunset villa as we extended for an extra night. Huge bathroom and patio doors you can open to the elements as nobody can see in. The infinity pool was fab. Long enough for a decent swim. Staff were always very helpful and we loved the food especially the local, Sri Lankan breakfast. Must be ordered the night before. We wanted a tranquil setting for a couple of days to relax before starting our tour of the island and it did not disappoint.

We stayed in an oceanfront room with an amazing view. The room was very clean, and the hot shower had excellent water pressure. We enjoyed our meals while looking out over the sea and spent relaxing time swimming in the pool. It’s a great choice for families with children—safe, comfortable, and welcoming. The staff were friendly, efficient, and provided excellent service. Although the waves were too strong for swimming, we could watch sea turtles right from the shore. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was amazing. The staff will do everything they can to help you out. We had an amazing dinner at restaurant (one of the best meal we had in our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka) and the natural pool in front of the hotel where we were able to swin with turtles in the morning. Breakfast was also good and you could choose between Sri Lankan breakfast or a continental one. If you are nearby, don't bother looking anymore. This place is awesome and you will spend a great time here!

6 nights at Rockside Cabanas was a wonderful experience. Easy access to turtle beach and pool was perfect for us as well. Galle 10-15 mins away with tuk-tuk.. Staff were very helpful, friendly and restaurant food was good quality. Rockside also organise transfer from airport to hotel and from hotel to Ella which made things a lot easier. Hope to come back one day.

The whole property is just amazing. Set on a green plot of land not far from Unawatuna - and directly on the beach. The newly build pool is amazing, and you can walk straight onto the beach, where you are greeted by giant sea turtles. On top of that, the staff is incredibly friendly - we have already booked our next stay <3

It was a beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was great. We ate dinner one night here. It was good. Only downside is that the beach is not swim able. Rough seas and no real beach. However there was a pool .

Very well maintained property. Loved the pool area, available 2 different pools (one with salt water). Delicious and variable breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful, made our staying enjoyable. Location very good, lovely narrow street with lots of restaurant and shops nearby.

Property was great with lots of good amenities - lovely pool, pool table, children’s playroom. The staff were wonderful and the rooms were exceptionally clean which was important to me as I was travelling with children - I especially appreciated how Subadra created very cute and pretty towel displays for my child after cleaning the room (which she always left spotlessly clean).

Position it was a nice distance to walk to the beach, restaurants and bars and was a nice and quite location. The staff were amazing and forever helpful and happy. The breakfast buffet was excellent with fresh fruit, cakes and an egg station with an excellent chef who made a fantastic omelette. Our room was huge and the bathroom had a big walk in shower which was perfect. Both fresh and salt water pools were great and never crowded.

There is a hotel beach, and the hotel offers free shuttle service (or a 7-minute walk). Room cleaning twice a day. Very delicious and varied breakfasts. You can have dinner at the hotel, and there's an option to choose fresh fish. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance. It's pure enjoyment to spend a vacation here.

Mervin drove us in his tuk tuk, including to an excellent pharmacy when needed for medication after we had had a wild goose chase with another tuk tuk driver (not their fault) to a no longer existing medical facility. Room is basic but with pool and setting highly recommend and excellent value for money.

Amazing host Mervin! Very friendly and welcoming. The garden and pool are fantastic, like a peaceful oasis outside of Galle Fort. Mervin and staff really made our stay comfortable. He even gave us a lift into the Fort one evening. Bed was comfortable and Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious. There is also a really good little local cafe across the road called Gami. Try the kottu, it’s the best we had in Sri Lanka!

Brilliant and peaceful location in Unawatuna with amazing friendly staff, huge, clean and comfortable bedrooms perfect place to find some peace. Rashmi and the hotel manager and whole team were very attentive and nice and the food is also incredible. Location is a little off the main road but this makes for a good location to relax and the staff will sort a tuk tuk for you to get into and back to the hotel so no issue really. Also a lovely selection of shirts you can buy! Pool area is brilliant for swimming and chilling!

Thanks for allowing us to check in earlier. The staff gave us welcome drinks, also they did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible, thanks for this hospitality, especially the guy named Nıtik! This is cozy hotel with a clean swimming pool in the jungle. The WiFi worked well, the breakfast was also good. Every day they cleaned our room, changed the bed linen and gave us clean towels. The air conditioner works good.

A fantastic hotel for the last night of our trip. We got the duplex, a giant family room with a private little pool, big beds and a large sofa area. Loved the garden with the big pool, we spent quite some time in there with the kids. Terrace restaurant with delicious food. And the hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. They let us take the room early on day 1 and let us use the pool way after we checked out on day 2. Really appreciated. Also, just 5 minutes tuktuk to get to the old town. Can really recommend!

Fantastic hotel in a really beautiful building. Staff were amazing and very attentive. They suggested things for us to do/places for us to go and arranged transport for us. We had dinner at the villa - the food was amazing, and the setting was simply stunning. The room was extremely comfy and very clean. The pool was an added bonus. It was great to sit by the pool after a day exploring Galle.

We were in a duplex family room, which has an exit to the pool. Room is on two floors. It is amazing, huge, luxurious, also the bathroom. It was much more than we expected. The pool is super nice, directly in front of the apartment. Breakfast and dinner are served in the garden, the table is beautifully decorated. The staff is very nice. Everything is truly perfect.

The villa is beautiful, and the pool is absolutely luxurious and spotless. The setting offers fantastic peace and a gorgeous garden; every morning feels magical. The villa provides plenty of space and privacy. The grounds are excellently maintained, and guests can use all facilities (except for a washing machine). There are ample towels and dishes. There are only four sun loungers by the pool, which isn’t entirely fair. Chandima is very kind and always ready to help.

Tucked away in a quiet spot,away from the tourists, this luxury villa provides a comfortable retreat. The kids loved the pool, there was a daily visit by a tribe of leaf monk eys and lots of visiting birds. The housekeeper/cook who stays in a separate building was welcoming and helpful and prepared delicious meals. On the downside portion control at breakfast was a bit bizarre, a limit of one round of toast per person and one cup of coffee, but it was otherwise plentiful.

Chandima, who works at the property, is amazing. A great cook and took good care of us, including helping book transport and everything required to make the trip great. The house is big with a great pool, close to Galle and the beech, 10 / 20 minutes away by tuk tuk. The house is a little out of town, which is great as there is peace and wildlife. We found our stay to be very relaxing but with plenty of entertainment and restaurant option close enough

Wow is all i can say. The Villa was beautiful, tge pool was awesome, the views were beautiful, the host (Chandima) is a wonderful human being (who is also a greak cook), lots of wildlife and easy to get to Unawantuna and Galle.. Sri Lanka was full of highlights, this was the best accomodation.

If you’re looking for tranquility and a stunning pool, this is the perfect spot!

The hotel was beautifully done. It was green and courtyard was surrounded by tropical trees. The pool was great for a dip. We stayed in a triple room where the single bed was placed in a aloft and the double bed was downstairs so the common room are felt nice and spacious. The bathroom was big and well lit. We also liked that we had our own balcony overlooking the hotel courtyard and pool. The breakfast here was one of the best we've had. The staff were super friendly and courteous.

Absolutely beautiful from the buildings to the landscaping and pool to the rooms. Only 4 rooms plus the separate house so it was always quiet and it felt like we had it to ourselves. The staff were so friendly and attentive, happy to help with whatever we needed and answer questions. We had a midnight flight on our last day and they very kindly let us have a late checkout and enjoy a perfect peaceful final day in Galle for our last day in Sri Lanka. The breakfast was delicious, rooms were huge and very comfortable. Could not recommend more, you must book!

Very nice villa, surrounded by a beautiful peaceful garden, a little oasis. Staff is more than friendly, they brought the kids toys for the pool and went around the garden with them explaining everything. Breakfast is delicious and fresh. The last day we got a breakfast package (we had to leave at 5AM) with extra crocodile bread for the kids ;-) , sandwiches, fresh fruit, ... They made a huge effort! We highly recommend this address!

Very hospitable and friendly service. Beautiful pool area to relax. Breakfast served super fresh. Atmosphere of the place was great. Superb location, just a short drive to Galle and still secluded and green. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Special thanks for changing our booking (2 to 1 night), whilst not possible through booking.com. Would stay here again when visiting Galle!

A very nice relaxing stay in a villa with a lovely pool. Set inside the jungle not far off the main road and close to the beach. Good size room with balcony and very clean. And a very comfortable bed. Also the included breakfast was amazing, so much food, including eggs, fresh fruit juice, tea and coffee, cake, for slices of toast, butter and jam and string Hoppers with Dahl and coconut. Staff were very kind and accommodating.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The villa and rooms are very clean. The pool area is very relaxing and super clean, which you dont always see in the areas hotels. Breakfast is great and big! A bit outside Galle center but easy and cheap to move around with tuktuk. Location is nice because there is no big streets nearby so its quiet and peaceful.

Staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. Newly installed pool. Large tasty breakfast. Location is nice, set back from the road. Bedding was clean and fresh. Nicely decorated and furnished. You can tell they take pride in their business.

Loved this villa off the beaten track. Everything you need to be comfortable. Amazing price especially with breakfast included. Pool is lovely to relax in after a busy day in town. Everything is clean. Staff are amazing and helpful, organised transport, accom and safari for us the next day.

My family and I stayed here for two nights and had an excellent stay. The manager and staff very friendly people, especially Keethan. The traditional homecooked Sri Lankan breakfast and western breakfast were both phenomenal and the rooms and the pool were very clean and well-maintained. It is located in a good and serene area. This villa made our stay at Galle the best experience.

Everything is so great. The view in the lobby and the room is spectacular and the pool is very clean. Staffs are so friendly and helpful even if I just stayed here for one night. And I really like the fact that the beach is not crowded with very few people.

We really loved our stay at the Spice Trail. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The Sri Lankan breakfast is delicious. The room is very nice with a great outdoor shower leading to the backdoor for pool access. Lounging around the pool was great, it's quite a small villa so we had the pool to ourselves most of the time. It's also tucked away off the main road so it is not loud but still within 10min walk of the main area. If I ever come back to Ahangama I wouldn't hesitate to stay there.

The biggest and most relaxing pool you can imagine, with nice and clean rooms. The atmosphere was relaxing and the personnel very kind and helpful. Excellent breakfast as well! We were totally alone, which made it even better to just hang and chill by the pool.

Everything was perfect! This place is really quiet and very comfortable to stay. The room was clear, have everything you need, even a raptor! Atmosphere in the hotel is wonderful, the pool is clean and so big. Breakfast in the hotel is very tasty, you can have an European one, or local food as well. We had a coconut every morning at the breakfast and also tea. Staff of the hotel is very friendly and ready to help you with anything. Beach is close to the hotel, about 5 minutes by foot. We were so impressed by the Spice Trail that we didn’t want to leave.

It’s a very relaxed environment inside Spice Trail, quiet and surrounded by a beautiful garden. However it’s only 5 mins away from all the amazing cafes and restaurants in Ahangama town. The pool is clean, and large. It’s surrounded by trees and if you’re lucky you might see monkeys swinging on them. In addition the staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. They went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay.

The hotel is in the middle of everything and yet it is very quiet away from the main road. I absolutely loved staying here and wished I could stay longer. We opted for breakfast in the hotel in the morning and it was so entertaining to watch monkeys play in the trees and listening to birds chirping was my favourite part of the day. The room was big and spacious also

We had a wonderful stay at the Dunes Unawatuna Hotel. The staff was really friendly and helpfull. The room was beautifully designed and very comfortable. The hotel was very clean and the service was very good. The owner is a very welcoming, friendly and hard working and was really proud to show us around. Besides the beautiful building itself the hotel has a very nice garden where you can really relax and feel the laid-back and relaxing Sri Lanka nature vibe. Location is also great, within 2 min walk you can enjoy the shops, restaurant and the beach. We had a wonderfull stay and would definitely recommend this hotel !

We had booked another hotel for our 4 day stay at unawatuna earlier however we changed it just over a week before our visit by looking at the photos of the property and the distance of this hotel to the beach and our diving center. The entire hotel had wooden finish across and had excellent staff especially Dhanuska, who would go out of his way to make sure our stay here is well taken care of. We were given an upgrade on our rooms upon our visit and we enjoyed the stay comfortably. Right from making sure our pick up and drop from the airport was taken care of. Our meals preferences would be shared a day prior and it would be served at a time convenient to us. Even though the food would be served at set hours, they made an exception for us since we had to reach our diving center with one hour of food break! The area is serene and has lot of greenery and gives you a feeling of staying away from the urban landscape which is just few meters away! The stay was exceptional and we were accorded a luxurious stay there with tremendous value for money that we invested here. I would recommend this place as it’s at the main market street which gives you access to lot of restaurants and shops and a 5 min walk to the beach.

So close to the town straight out of the driveway but tucked away as a little piece of paradise to the rear with wildlife and peaceful nature! Lots of restaurants a stride away and also the beach, but without the hustle and bustle and big unwelcoming hotel feel of the usual beach front accommodation. Gorgeous breakfasts available ! and well equipped room with emergency toothbrushes and toothpaste, toiletries, kettle and mini bar. Friendly helpful team and also a little library section and sun creams etc left by previous tourists. Wish we had time to stay longer

Perfect location inside the fort and near the best sunset spots along the fort walls, as well as next to the clock tower where you can start the fort wall walk. Easy to access by taxi too as it's near the fort entrance, but easy walking distance to everything inside the fort. Staff were super friendly and helpful and gave me a free upgrade upon arrival. Rooms were spacious, cool, well decorated, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really tasty! It was the perfect place to stay at the beginning of my Sri Lanka trip, would definitely recommend!

Spent two lovely days in Galle at the Le Grand. Immediately when walking in, we were greeted by an amazing staff - welcoming us with refreshing drinks after our long drive. The hotel lobby, views, and amenities were amazing. There is an infinity pool overlooking the beauty of the coast line. And the spa has a sauna that had amazing views while you relax. And breakfast was fantastic, wide selection for all folks! Our room - 301 - was HUGE, and complete with a balcony and jacuzzi tub which was perfect to watch the sunset and enjoy a glass of wine. Service and staff were awesome - shoutout to Medhavi and Prasanna for making our stay comfortable! Short distance walk or tuk to Galle Fort.

Wonderful view of the fort. Really nice infinity pool and good sunset views. Nice large room with big bath. Lots of space. Friendly welcome. Breakfast was OK - not amazing service and we had to ask a number of times for coffees, water, etc. Compared to the rest of our trip bottled water was pretty expensive here. The omelettes were tasty. Really mixed experience in the spa. My massage was terrible. My partner’s was outstanding. Although they did not charge for mine in the end which was really good of them. Unfortunately, despite the great position of the hotel next to the fort, for 2 days of our 3 day trip, there was horrifically loud deep techno music playing right beside the hotel at some private car sales event. It completely disrupted our stay but on the upside, did mean that we ventured outside the hotel and had a great day in Unawatuna beach and the really cute centre of Galle. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but there could have been some small improvements to make it even better.

Great location by the Fort. Lovely pool and pool bar, but shame no other bar in the lobby, that was the only downside along with not much seating area around the bar (plenty of loungers by the pool).

We stayed in the ocean view room and it was beautiful. The rooms are quite big and spacious. We liked how every part of the property had the view of the ocean when you walk in. Breakfast was great, especially the Srilankan delicacies. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The best part was the pool and jacuzzi where you can spend good couple of hours, bonus points for the pool water being heated! Overall great stay!

Excellent Sri Lankan breakfast - delicious, especially the pancakes and fruit juice - served at a large volume to last a while, which is perfect if you plan on sightseeing for the rest of the day. Aesthetic interior designing, furniture and colour scheme. Friendly and professional staff, always attentive and welcoming. Room is spacious, with plenty of rack and wardrobe space. Large and comfortable four-poster beds. Walking distance to all locations within the Galle Fort, and a 25 minute walk to the train and bus station.

Amazing small hotel in a quiet side street but within easy walking distance to all the places of interest in Galle Fort. Recently renovated with large comfortable rooms and modern bathrooms. Parawa House is a beautifully renovated house on a picturesque, quiet street In Galle Fort. The rooms are thoughtfully designed and comfortable with a peaceful outdoor space. Wonderful colonial house, well decorated and in a perfect location. Just off of the main road in a quiet yet central area. As it was my bday, they’ve upgraded our room for free, which I’ve really appreciated. Breakfast is fresh made and different every morning and the quality is excellent. Hotel was located about 15 minute walk from the beach or a five minute tuk tuk . Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were great hot powerful shower , great swimming pool and had a pool table to play on We had 2 rooms one standard and 1 deluxe, I would recommend the deluxe. We had dinner one evening in the hotel because we were tired. We had a Sri Lankan curry next time I wouldn’t bother and I would venture out even if tired .

Amazing bedroom. Excellent size, facilities, comfort of bed, modern bathroom, and general view. Staff we super helpful at all times and helped us with every issue. They were even able to grab a couple beers for us to relax in the bar by ourselves on our final night, late into the evening. The top floor room was brilliant with a great pool, and my partner loved making use of the pool, which had a good amount of adjustable shade/parasols and sun loungers.

The room was lovely, nice and spacious and great view of the pool. The pool was also a nice relaxing space and breakfast was amazing.

Staying at Green Escape was an absolute delight! We relished every moment of our time there, especially since we had the entire swimming pool to ourselves with no other guests around. It was truly a serene experience without the usual hustle and bustle. The rooms were immaculate, the swimming pool glistened crystal clear, and the garden was impeccably maintained. Considering the price we paid, the value we received was exceptional. The affordability coupled with the quality of amenities truly made it worth every penny.

Lovely place to relax, swim and flick between reading a book on the balcony, looking out at the wildlife and nature or sat by the pool. Washer machine, facilities fab. Staff so warm, smiley and friendly. The lady that seemed to lead on most things, (unfortunately said she was leaving), really stood out.

We booked one night before we arrived. When we arrived there were constructions going on. That night we got refunded, which was good and nice. The girl and boys are all very nice, and so is the manager. On our last day we even got a plaid of food because she had friends over. All in all really a go to place! - perfect rooms - perfect pool and pool area - incl washing machine in room

We stayed for 5 nights with our 2 little boys and it felt like home from the moment we arrived. Fresh coconut water upon arrival and they arranged a scooter for us within minutes. The villa itself was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Having a washing machine and small kitchen was a nice bonus. We enjoyed the swimming pool as well! Staff was very friendly and helpful, not only for us but also our kids. They loved playing games with our boys. Breakfast changed every day and was delicious! We highly recommend staying here when visiting Unawatuna

Location in tuktuk drive away from Unawatuna and Jungle beach but very private and quiet because it is away from the main road. The rooms are amazing and spacious with own kitchen and balcony. As there are not many rooms then the hotel and pool area feels private and relaxing. The staff is helpful and keeps the place tidy.

It was really well designed, with dining tables facing the pool. In fact, with all the rooms facing the lovely, exquisite pool. We were most appreciative of the fact that our room was literally 5 steps away from the pool! For someone who loves to swim, this was truly appreciated. The entre service was wonderful. Excellent facilities, staff couldn't do enough for you, smiling and very accommodating, exceptionally helpful. It was so good to be given a self guided walking map. The first we have received. Absolutely beautiful colonial building in the centre of the Fort with beautiful interior decoration. Stunning and large rooms which are very luxurious, modern, new and clean. Bed very comfortable. We had the two level loft room which we loved. Lovely pool to cool off and relax in. The breakfasts were fantastic and great latte coffees. The whole team could not be politer and have an extremely professional approach. The room I had was large well furnished, very comfortable and a bathroom you normally only see in magazines. While the pool area is not that big it is set in loverly grounds and the pool was very clean. The food standard in the restaurant was of a very high quality. Ask the team for something and they will deliver.

Beautiful old colonial building kept immaculately and full of character. Rooms were comfortable and clean, we particularly liked the bathroom with the big open shower. Really quiet, just the noise of the birds. Pool area and garden is very serene. All the meals we had here were excellent, and the staff were always attentive, friendly and helpful.

The property is in such a wonderful location. Close enough to galle fort to enjoy a tuk tuk ride into town in 5-10 mins, but out of the hustle and bustle of the town so you get to enjoy calm and tranquility at the property. The pool is perfect, the staff are so helpful and friendly, even helping us with our two young Children who wanted to eat toast and fruit for supper, and the rooms and common areas are superb. Super comfy beds, delicious food and drinks - it’s a perfect place to stay!!

Absolutely gorgeous colonial style hotel with very friendly and attentive staff. The bedroom that we stayed in was gorgeous with a semi-open air shower that we enjoyed. We loved sitting outside the room and watching the monkeys in the ancient mango tree and swimming in the pool at dusk watching the bats. The breakfast was huge and delicious and the cocktails were expertly made.

It’s an ancient house reformed to an hotel. Very good decoration in the whole hotel. The room was very beautiful and clean with an amazing exterior big shower. The personal was so kind and we had an amazing Sri Lankan breakfast! PS: we saw monkeys in the tree that we didn’t see before in our trip. Pool area very nice and cosy as well!

Amazing quit place with friendly staff. The room was very pretty, clean and comfortable. We felt very welcome here. It was our last nights in Sri Lanka and was good to end it here. We did the small boat trip on the river beside the hotel, very fun. The swimming pool was clean and we saw some monkeys 😀 The bathroom was outside in the room so you feel like your in the jungle but it was very big and clean.

Indika and his team were exceptional, they instantly made us feel welcome and relaxed. The room was amazing, the pool was absolutely lovely and the whole place was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. You need to get a tuk tuk to go to the fort but Indika was easily available to take you in and out for a really reasonable rate and was nice to have a chat with him, and he was super helpful with hints and tips. Breakfast and dinners were lovely. The entire experience was great and it was a lovely end to our trip in Sri Lanka.

Amazing location and beautifully designed architecture with amazing sri lankan antiques. Such a peaceful ambience entrenched in the forest and overlooking the pool. The room was stunning and the staff were super attentive and nothing was too much trouble at all. Fab breakfast too. A memorable quality experience in the jungle which was like nothing we had experienced before . HIGHLY recommended for something unique if you are from Europe.

A very comfortable small hotel with rooms arranged in a forest, around a central reception and pool area. Our room was beautifully furnished and had an outdoor bathroom. The restaurant was good and catered well for vegetarians. The owner will run you into Galle in his tuktuk and collect you when you’re finished. It takes about 10-15 minutes so it’s quite convenient to be staying a bit out of town, away from the bustle. He also organised a faultless airport pick-up for us. The staff were lovely- can’t fault them. Altogether a very good soft landing in Sri Lanka.

Nice hotel, grat service, friendly and outstanding staff and good dinner with buffet formula, it also has a nice beach with excellent service, unfortunally could not go to the infinity pool as there was a wedding, it has a souvenir shop at the ground floor. Surely would go again!

Amazing resort on Unawatuna Beach! It has every facility you could think of. We really enjoyed using the infinity pool and going up the viewpoint on the top of the building. Comfortable rooms with nice bathrooms and we had a lovely view of the ocean.

We had an amazing 5 night stay at the horizon hill top Villa. The hotel is beautiful, in a lovely setting amongst the trees. The pool was great to relax around, and the pool house situated next to the pool had everything we needed. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and would always be around as and when required. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We stayed in double deluxe room with pool view, and it was one of the most surprising, unusual and exciting rooms we have been to in Sri Lanka. We entered it and gasped - we had alive fish in the aquarium in the bathroom, and our furniture was made out of concrete, with one wall being literally a rock. We also really loved the pool, it’s big, clean. overall staff takes good care of the facilities with keeping it beautiful and clean.

The room was amazingly spacious and the decor was so well considered and stylish. The view was beautiful over the jungle, especially in the mornings and the (shy) monkey visitors were a real treat. The Sri Lankan breakfast was absolutely delicious! We didn't make it to the pool but the view of it from our balcony looked lovely! The hotel is located up a hill but tuk tuks have no problem accessing. The staff were great and we thought the location was perfect, can walk to the beach, bars and restaurants easily Great value for money.

The property is located further back from the main part of Unawatuna but I liked this as I prefer being away from the sea. It is a quiet oasis of tranquility. The room was amazing - it had a lovely big 4 poster bed which was like sleeping on a cloud. I loved the open roof bathroom with the stunning shower which had hot water. The pool was fab and clean. The service was great and friendly and the food was amazing. The portions were huge and the dishes were all freshly made. We had the biggest prawns and a huge tuna steak. The vegetable curries are a trio of delicious curries, highly recommend.

The property was beautiful and set in breathtaking surroundings,only a 15 minute walk from the beach. We had a very warm welcome on arrival and the staff were absolutely fantastic throughout our stay. The Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious,definitely something to be tried. We enjoyed at morning at the pool,which had amazing views and was empty for most of the time.

A beautiful heritage hotel in the heart of Galle Fort. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the team at the Fort printers really looked after us. I recommend eating in the restaurant as it was delicious. We spent every evening having a coffee or a cocktail outside watching the world go by. Have a dip in the pool on those hot days, it’s very refreshing!

The Fort Printers is conveniently located in the heart of historic Galle Fort. Elegantly designed and maintained space. The staff is well trained, friendly and welcoming. Lovely restaurant and memorable breakfast overlooking the pool in the beautiful courtyard. I am looking forward to staying at The Fort Printers again and highly recommend it to anyone.

I really like the location - very central to the fort area - easy walking distance to everything. Bed super comfortable - bathroom big. Plenty of space in the room for all our luggage. 18 Faces had a very laid-back feel and was in a quiet location, just a short walk to the beach (200m). The room was big and well equipped, and the bed was very large and comfortable, and the shower was great. The room also had a nice balcony overlooking the pool and deck area. The pool area and deck area were lovely with shady areas. There was a nice breakfast each morning with a big choice. The tuk tuk ride to town was very handy. The staff were lovely and made a surprise gesture because it was our birthday. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful helpful and friendly staff in every part of the hotel. Pool area is lovely and relaxing. Hotel is on the beachfront so lovely to walk on and hear the waves however red flag beach so swimming is not advised but the pool area is fab. Good location. Buffet breakfast and dinner lovely and lots to choose from. A particular mention to the lady that makes the milk and egg hoppers, which were perfect. Lovely rooftop bar overlooking swimming pool and sea fab. I would recommend this hotel.

We visited for a birthday celebration and had a truly wonderful stay with family, including our one-year-old baby. The welcome was warm with drinks and clear info about the hotel. Rooms were luxurious, well-organized, and had a perfect ocean view. The pool was big and very clean. A special thanks to Mr. Ajith who was so friendly and even helped with our baby during swimming. We also had a small surprise birthday celebration with a lovely cake at breakfast. Staff were extremely friendly and supportive throughout. My son enjoyed the beach and pool a lot.

The pool and leisure area was pure bliss, such a pleasure to rest and dream around the pool beside the sea. The site's photos do not do this any justice. The restaurant buffet meals were amazing with a huge variety of Sri Lankan, Indian and other dishes. We appreciated the exceptional professional and genuinely friendly attendance of the restaurant floor manager Prasad. And thanks to all staff. My only disappointment was the room itself. I found it uncomfortably dreary, dark and far too cold for comfort - despite turning off the A/C most of the time.

The hotel is ideally located inside Galle fort. Everything is within walking distance, or a short tuk tuk ride away. The room was large and comfortable. The much needed AC (it was very hot and humid in Galle) was nicely supported by a large ceiling fan. The food (breakfast and dinner - we were half board) in the restaurant was very good to excellent. There’s no pool, but it’s not to be expected in a heritage hotel (strict planning controls apply). There’s a spa usefully located on the premises, who offer a 10 minute free foot massage to guests. Best of all are the staff, especially Rimaz, Dilan, Hassan, Poorna the chef, and Sanushka. There was an initial problem with the room phone, which was quickly sorted out by the staff. Each one mentioned was welcoming, professional and helpful. A lovely gesture for our last evening meal was to abandon the set menu option (of which there were many) and asking us what we’d like of choice. It was very kind of them. All in all, it was a great stay!!

The building - It’s truly a historical piece now available for all to enjoy. I love the iconic heritage building restored to highlight its originality. In addition, all the art decos are aligning to give this beautiful place a real “take me back” into the past. The rooms - love how spacious the rooms are. The beds were super super king size, you can easily fit a family of five in that room. Aircon and fan all throughout - very comfortable.d Bathroom - clean and spacious just the way I like, however no dental kit was provided, which didn’t faze as I have spare toothbrush always on me. Balcony - Sun lounge seating just to soak in the sun if one is wanting some heat on them Breakfast - beautiful breakfast served to your table for USD12 each. I swear the breakfast is a meal for for a king, from western to traditional Sri Lankan food, it doesn’t just stop there, followed by amazing local fruit and fruit juices. Oh! And not forgetting unlimited coffee and tea. The chef comes out to say hello and ask for reviews on his cooking whilst the waitstaff whose smile is the highlight of the breakfast table goes above and beyond. Front desk and bell services - I think I have said enough, I’m reviewing this place with a big green tick. Keep up the good job guys, I will certainly be back.

A charming heritage property in the heart of old fort area of Galle. The room was functional, clean, spacious and perfect for us - a group of 4 friends. The location is perfect for exploring the area and the old fort area by foot. Most restaurants close by 11 pm inside Galle Fort area. The balcony that wraps around the room was perfect to sit & chill and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. The bed and bedding was super comfortable & we had a good rest each night. The staff was really helpful and prompt in addressing our requests specially Suneth & Hiruni. The service speed in the restaurant is a bit slow but considering we are on holiday it was ok. The airport transfers and local day trip was arranged with the hotel and our driver Udaya was very courteous & polite. He gave good suggestions of the beaches to visit in the southern coast.

We love the colonial architecture and the Location right in the middle of Galle Fort. Especially Love that our room was ready early when we had texted and they had air-conditioning. It was miserably, hot and gall, and the Room was our saving grace. The staff were very accommodating. We got the free foot massage and afterwards everyone upgraded to a facial or a neck/shoulder massage lovely. The breakfast was literally over the top whether it was the English breakfast lovely for a change with nice bread, butter and marmalade or the Sri Lankan breakfast which was truly amazing with every kind of curry along with hoppers and eggs at the bottom that was new and delicious. The only thing we have to say is that it was so hot. You couldn’t really enjoy the patio/balcony. Also, the beautiful big cloth foot tub could not be used because the water did not get hot. Going to the bathtub. There was a special hot water unit for the shower, which got very very hot

We loved everything. The location was fantastic. The staff were amazing. Breakfast was absolutely beautiful and freshly prepared at a time you chose. They even made us breakfast on the day we left even though we were leaving at 6:30 am. We couldn’t fault it. It’s not very big so you don’t have to fight for space etc. the swimming pool was a great temperature. There is a Chinese restaurant and coffee shop opposite. Everything is flat so it’s great for walking and so close to the ocean.

I was interested in shopping at Barefoot although the shop in Colombo is much better. I had a massage at the Spa Ceylon branch on the corner from the hotel. It was a fantastic massage experience. We had dinner at 'The Archives' a short walk from the hotel and it was amazing, would recommend. I really enjoyed this hotel. before dinner we went for a drink at the Galle Fort Hotel, we sat on the verandah and enjoyed the history of the Fort. For a one or two night stay the absence of a swimming pool was not an issue. The hotel room was very comfortable as were the common spaces.

The hotel is conveniently located right in the centre of the lively bars, restaurants and shopping area. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the service we had was exceptional. The room was spotlessly clean, large and airy with a huge en-suite shower. Food wise, the breakfast and evening menus were extensive and could be eaten outside in a shaded area or in the air-conditioned restaurant, the food quality was amazing. There was an outside bar area where you could sit and people watch and the drinks menu was comprehensive. I genuinely don't think the hotel could have done any more to make our visit more enjoyable. I cannot recommend this place more highly

Wow ..one of the better places we have been over the years literally around the world. And especially in Sri Lanka. Hence starts with a super refreshing fresh welcomr juice you can chose from the menu yourself. Check in fast and earlier possible than the official check in time. Whole hotel new and with a pretty classy design. Also infrastructure bat a rather very high level. Very cosy rooms with a super bathroom. The staff really extremely friendly, fast and helpful. Especially to be mentionned Amien at the reception. The breakfast simply delicious with good cafe or tea included (not always the case in Sri Lanka). Yet almost too much since two big rounds based on your menu preferences 🤪. Also the dinner delicious for a bit higher price (yet better food than a highly rated restaurant closeby). Super well located in the very center in Galle fort yet rooms all silent (on the other side of the road try tonic spa..very qualitative spa rooms and charmy colonial infrastructure with excellent massage for a fair price). Even so over 150 usd the night..its great value for money👍. Definitely a place to stay☺️!

The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, offering complimentary delicious fruit snacks and fresh juices each night. The cosy and comfortable atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment, and the hotel's central location made it convenient to explore the fort and nearby beach. I can't express enough how satisfied I was with my stay. Thank you, Merchant Hotel, for creating the best memory of my Sri Lankan trip. Highly recommended!

You can see it is a beautiful hotel from the minute you walk in the reception. Rooms were beautiful and spacious. Big balcony. By far the best hotel we've stayed in during our sri lankan holiday snd the comfiest bed. Breakfast was amazing, and the coffee was great. Also if your in the cafe it's worth trying the merchant iced coffee! Perfect location within the Fort, short walk to the light house. Staff were so friendly.

The owner speaks good English and she was lovely. The silence at night was amazing The room smells amazing ( taking in consideration that that’s a weird thing in Srilanka where most of the hotels have musty smell

Quiet location with a great pool and a beautiful garden with all kinds of plants and animals. Helpful owners who also prepare a delicious breakfast in the morning. Rooms are modern and clean with comfortable beds. Perfect for a relaxed stay.

Super friendly hosts! This is a family run place and the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. It’s a quiet oasis which still has super easy access to Unawatuna, Galle etc. it’s a nice 15 min tuc tuc ride to Galle, and the hotel is happy to call a very good driver. We enjoyed relaxing on the large terrace, the green area full of animals (birds, monkeys, monitor lizards etc) and the pool. It’s possible to have your meals here which is a good option considering the slightly remote location.

Everything was amazing. The garden is very beautiful, with a pool! The owner family are very nice and made my stay very comfortable. Breakfasts are delicious 😋 and rooms are big and clean. I enjoyed my stay there and I even stayed there 2 times! It is a bit far from the main road, but I don't ride a motorbyke and I was using PickMe or even walking sometimes to the main road, so it wasn't a problem for me at all.

Stayed at Taru Villas in Feb 2024. The hotel is small, but offers a lovely tranquil setting in the hustle and bustle of Galle. We stayed in a poolside room, which was roomy and well appointed, with a great bathroom. The pool area is lovely and great to jump into after the heat of walking around the city walls. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Overall a beautiful place to spend a few days. Would I come again, absolutely.

Excellent facilities, lovely small pool with only two poolside rooms. If you are lucky enough to be able to book them, do. A few other cheaper room options available if not. Food was delicious and more than plentiful, really good and only slightly more expensive than some in town but far better value.

The villa has several communal sitting areas that are all very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The garden/ pool area is peaceful and even attracted a kingfisher bird. Our room and bathroom was large and the bed was perfect. The Sri Lankan breakfast option was delicious. The staff were attentive and always smiling.

My partner and I loved our stay at Ceylon Olive. We stayed in the family room which was very spacious and had a beautiful outside shower. The pool and garden were very tranquil and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool. Breakfast was included and we opted for the Sri Lankan style breakfast which was delicious!! The owner Kumudu was very helpful and suggested some sites to see during our stay.

Well placed close de Galle Fort and to the main beaches by tuk tuk, but located in a quiet property away from the bustle and noise. Rooms are spacious and very clean, with comfortable beds and an amazing outdoor toilet & shower. Beautiful garden, a small clean pool in a natural environment and great breakfast. The owner was very kind and attentive, helpful in anything we needed. He made us feel at home and that really makes a difference. Absolutely recommend it and will certainly return if we are again in Galle.

We had a super relaxing time here. The villas are very secluded and quiet, set back in a beatifully landscaped garden. The pool was ideal for cooling off. Breakfast was served on our terrace overlooking the garden and the Sri Lanka breakfast was delightful. Tuk tuks are on standby to whizz you into the Fort area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The outside bathroom and tree shower was a great addition and memorable with a couple of butterflies joining me in the mornings!

Everything was perfect. A spacious clean room with an outdoor shower, the pool, a delicious breakfast served on our own terrace and the owner Kumudu was very friendly and helpful.

We had an amazing stay at Ceylon Olive! The owner and staff are all super attentive. The rooms are super nicely decorated and spacious. Beds are very comfy. The property is very beautiful with a nice garden and pool surrounded by nature (beautiful plants and flowers). The breakfast was exceptional. The location is great - very close to Galle town and Unawatuna but in a quiet area. They recently opened a spa, we enjoyed an amazing massage there! Thanks for everything! We will definitely be back one day!
