Anathaya Beach hotel has a perfect infinity pool and see view from the rooms. All staff members are very friendly, helpful and kind. The cuisine is delicious especially see food and special of the day - fresh fish, jumbo prawns, etc. Hotel is close to Rekawa Beach where you can see turtules.

This place is all about relaxing where the staff are helpful and provide first rate service. Our first floor room was spacious, spotlessly clean and had really good air-con, with a fantastic view over the well maintained infinity pool.

The helpful staff and also the infinity pool were the best. The room was also really nice to stay in. The breakfast and dinner was nicely prepared and delicious! It was not crowded and quiet, so we always played cards with a wonderful seaview. To add, we saw many peacocks! Lohnt sich !!!

The rooms were really comfortable, spacious and clean. The bed was big and comfortable. Everything in the room looked new and well taken care of. The pool as well as the pool area were clean and very nice to hang out. The gym has the necessary equipment. Breakfast was good. The little filled pancakes were especially tasty. We would really recommend the grilled prawns at the restaurant. A big thank you to all the staff, that was always helpful and made the stay one of our favorites in Sri Lanka.

It was very peaceful and perfect after a week travelling around. The pool was amazing and has such a great view. It was amazing to have a huge room and bed to ourselves. The hotel was quiet, relaxed, had the pool to ourselves. Everything g we needed was onsite, it had great amenities we didn’t use like the gym and massages. The staff were always on hand to help, friendly, and helped us sort out transport.

This resort is perfection! We absoutley loved everything about this stay. The place is immaculate, clean and has great facilities (gym, pool). We had a bungalow that was well maintained and stylish. Each bungalow has a balcony with sun loungers outside, mosquito net and fridge. The pool is clean and so relaxing. The massage was the best I have had in Sri Lanka alongside the coffee! Staff are wonderful and accommodating, the resort even comes with 3 pet dogs who are always up for a pat! Cannot fault this place.

I cant find words fort this amazing place ...we spend here 3 nights and i was very unhappy that we must leave this place. The place is modern, clean, peacful, almost like paradise :) . Restaurant offers teasty meals for meat lovers and vegetarians. All staff are polite, nice and always ready to help you. Swimming pool had great view to beautiful lagoon. Bonus is sunset from pool. Almost privet beach is only 3 min by foot.

The space is incredible, not only the bungalow was spacious and clean, the design was great, plus the pool in front of the lake, well equipped gym, spa center and restaurant make for a overall experience. The location is unneatable, in front of the lake amnd 5 mins walk from a breathtaking beach (we were almost alone). The staff was always welcoming and accomodating (they allowed us a late check in and to stay in the pool while we waited for our driver). Food was good and complete.

Beautiful location and place, when you walk into the hotel and the tropical garden it takes your breath away. The garden, the toast that comes with continental breakfast, the infinity pool and the service of the friendly personal deserves a 10.

If you want to relax and enjoy the sound of the ocean, this hotel is perfect. If you want to swim you should use the pool, because the ocean can be stormy sometimes. The pool is quite big and offers many chairs and beds. You can also request drinks and food at the pool, or anywhere else at the hotel. The staff is very friendly and professional. They actively keep the place clean. Any request we had they could help us with.

The location is fantastic just on the beach. It’s so peaceful. There are deckchairs and hammocks amongst the palm trees and a beautiful long wide beach. Lovely beach restaurant too. The hotel next door is owned by same company so you can use the pool/pool bar here too. That is important as the sea is tricky to swim in as pretty wild and rocks in the sea. We did dip close to shore but kids can’t swim at all here. We paid $100 for a family room (4 adults) which is great value for money. Wish we had stayed longer as such an amazing place.

Beautiful hotel right on the beach, in a quiet part of Tangalle. Very friendly people, the reception can arrange all sorts of excursions. Nice restaurant and bar, with both Sri Lankan and Western options. Guests can use the swimming pool of the hotel next door, it even has a pool bar. Fantastic to take a plunge with views of the ocean after a hot day. Would definitely recommend staying here to recharge your batteries!

This beautiful quiet place deserves a 10+. Akila and his team are the best to make you feel very comfortabel. They clean the room every day, serve a tasty breakfast (with good strong coffee). We choose a private villa with swimming pool, had a professional ayurvedic massage and they arranged dinner at the beach. We booked 2 nights but stayed longer. Also a swimming pool directly near the (almost private) beach with professional bartender to make great cocktails if you like. Best stay on our honeymoon trip.

We stayed in the romantic pool villa 5 and the villa was fantastic, very private and clean, the shower was a great powerful rain shower with hot water. For the last night stay the staff put on a lovely private dinning on the beach which was very romantic, the food was delicious and cooked very fresh. The manger couldn't do enough, he organized a scooter from day one, and all we needed to do was what's app him anything else we required. Another great thing about this hotel is the private beach access which is very secluded with great sun loungers and communal pool.

We had a very nice and comfortable Pool villa. We loved the open bathroom and the pool in the garden. Both of us had an amazing massage. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also Aperol Spritz is available at the bar. They prepared an romantic dinner for us at the beach, was beautiful.

Good Karma is a small piece of paradise! The staff was super friendly and helpful. We even got a free upgrade to one of the villa rooms with our own private pool! Also, they went above and beyond to send some belonings I forgot at the hotel to our next destination before we flew back home. There is a daily free yoga class which is a great way to start your day. The beach was beautiful with comfortable sun beds and a pool. We had a very beautiful and tasty dinner on the beach surrounded by candles and torches. Would definitely recommend this stay!

The view to the sea was unbeatable, as well as the awesomeness of the big, clear water infinity pool. The staff was absolutely friendly, and we had the most pleasant stay!

It is the last hotel on this spectacular beach. Our room had a view on the mangroves and on the beach (sideways). The sea was too rough to swim but they have an infinity pool looking out over the sea. Food was great, staff was super helpful and nice. It was perfect for our quiet family trip and to relax a few days after our trip through Sri Lanka.

Amazing place far from the crowds. Big room with gorgeous views. Cleaning is spotless and detailed. Staff members are the most efficient and friendly people! Restaurant also serves great food. Huge infinity pool, beautiful landscape and long beach for morning walks. I reserved for one night and added one more. Would stay longer if I had the time.. Best hotel of my travels in Sri Lanka! The breakfast was lovely and to top it off they decorated our room as it was our 20th wedding anniversary while we were there!

Felt like home. From the peaceful, cozy, romantic ambience to the mesmerizing aesthetics and perfect cleanliness, this was the warmest place we’ve stayed in a long time. We absolutely adored the food—super delicious with generous portions, and all at incredibly low prices. We had a lovely candlelight dinner, and also the breakfast in a treehouse in the garden. In the evening we watched Spirited Away on Netflix and couldn’t help but notice that the Igabara logo reminded us of Totoro. It’s just a 20-minute walk from the most enchanting Rekawa Turtle Beach. Though we missed the chance to watch turtles laying eggs at night, we were lucky enough to witness baby turtles making their first journey to the sea in the morning. We also saw many peacocks, and a variety of birds, reptiles, and even buffalos. This serene village is full of tranquil inland waters, including a large pond adorned with water lilies. There were so many thoughtful, free gifts: 1. A charming Igabara bag—which I loved so much. We filled it with the seashells we collected. 2. A minibar with snacks and drinks. 3. Extra compliments with both dinner and breakfast—dishes we didn’t even order but were joyfully served. The seashell arts, the wooden lamp, the scented tissue papers, and the large round bed still fill us with deep nostalgia. At checkout, we were even given a Tuk ride to the junction. The overall vibe and experience made us feel like we never wanted to leave. We would definitely stay again.

This place was amazing — we honestly have nothing to complain about! The host was incredibly friendly and helpful. The little hobbit house is beautiful, with so much attention to detail. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom (with all its amenities) was spotless and very well maintained, and the shower was perfect. Breakfast was also really good. The whole room was sparkling clean and made our stay super relaxing — it was everything we could have asked for!

My wife and I stayed one night at the Igabara Hobbit House in Rakawa, and it was such a unique and memorable experience. The design of the house is truly special — it feels like stepping into a storybook, with its charming hobbit-style architecture and cozy atmosphere. The attention to detail in the construction and decoration makes the place stand out, and we really enjoyed the creativity behind it. The location is peaceful and surrounded by nature, which gave us a sense of calm and relaxation from the moment we arrived. It was the perfect escape from busy life, and we loved the privacy the place offered. Inside, the hobbit house was clean, comfortable, and well set up with everything we needed for our stay. The hosts were very warm and welcoming, making sure we felt at home. They were attentive but also gave us our space to enjoy the experience. The surrounding area in Rakawa is beautiful as well, and being close to the beach was an added bonus. Even though it was just a one-night stay, it left a lasting impression on us. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to return for a longer visit. We highly recommend the Igabara Hobbit House to anyone looking for something different, magical, and unforgettable.

YOU MUST STAY HERE! Firstly, what incredible hosts, Hirushan you were amazing! We felt looked after from the moment we arrive to when we left. Our room was dressed beautiful, we were shown around and everything explained on arrival (room, food, directions to the beach, if transport was needed, etc). The room is very large, generous tea/coffee/water/beer/chocolate/biscuit selection free of charge. Now, the breakfast, where do I start! The table was laid and dressed with flowers and a card before we even got up. A big thank you to Hirushan's mum for such an impressive morning spread. The food was so morish and generous! Sadly, we stayed 1 night but I would recommend staying a minimum of 2 - 3. Top tips: - A great place on the beach for a drink and amazing food is Buffalo Hill Club / Red Lion Rekawa. You will meet a German woman called 'Angel', one of the most interesting women I have met! Great food and drinks.. - Dinner at Rock Beach Restaurant (5 - 10 mins tuk-tuk from The Hobbit House - thank you again Hirushan for arranging). - Turtle watching is nice but very crowded, be prepared. If it's overwhelming then use the time to admire the incredible stars above you Thank you again!!!

The breakfast was amazing and we enjoyed the varied selections at the restaurant for lunch and dinner. I liked the fish tacos in particular. This place has a relaxed & luxurious vibe. If you are looking for busy nightlife and crowded beaches, this place isn't for you.

This was without doubt one of the best hotels we have stayed at - anywhere! The staff were amazing, the food was excellent and the facilities were perfect for a holiday hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and each one is decorated individually. The beach is just the other side of a row of trees next to the pool and when you get onto the beach it is deserted. Cocktails were delicious and the complimentary beer and soft drinks in the rooms are a really nice touch. Just the perfect place - thank you to everybody for making our stay so wonderful - even Loki!

Pristine beach, sea a bit rough because of the low season, but we enjoyed ourselves around the infinity pool often. Food is top quality definitely everything is 5* experience. We even got spaghetti carbonara that were not on the evening buffet that particular day, prepared by chef and delivered to our table. Absolutely amazing selection of fruits and local and international cuisine in breakfast and evening buffet, with optional IL MARE restaurant a-la cart dining, by far exceeding our expectations. Absolutely amazing service in a friendly atmosphere, great staff including a personal host is willing to make your stay unforgettable. We enjoyed Yoga in elevated open air place with the best teacher giving the best class and meditation. Thank you for such a nice experience, we will definitely come back.

Just one small improvisation- there is no electric point for hairdryer in the washroom and the iron was not working properly.

Magnificent property on a beautiful beach. Lovely oversized pool dropping a waterfall into a lower smaller pool. Ocean view rooms spacious & well appointed; many nice thoughtful touches with slippers, sandals, hi end glassware, large bathroom with soaking tub & window into living area. The four restaurants are all fantastic & we preferred the Asian building with mesmerizing architecture; two buildings on the beach shaped like se urchins! Very futuristic & the good offerings were all delicious. I look forward to our return for the holidays.

An amazing hotel, amazing service - the staff go above and beyond, and are all so kind. The food and drinks were amazing, and the room was also amazing. Lots of service provided in the hotel e.g. gym,spa, tennis courts, coconuts… Lots of space around pools and beds for all guests, comfortable sunbeds and two towels provided at the pool everyday. Probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in and would love to come back.

A very nice guest house in Tangalle. The location is superb, maybe 1 minute away from the beach and all its restaurants. The best thing was the large and clean swimming pool, which was fantastic for our kids and the garden with the pool is just gorgeous. The staff was also very friendly and accomodating. There is a lagoon in the back of the property and they have kayaks you can rent free of charge which was a nice experience. The room was large, with a small kitchen area and comfy bed with a mosquito net. No AC, just a fan.

The garden is very nice and the pool is beautifull. Very close to the beach (3 min walking), you can hear the waves from the pool. Very kind staff, they arranged us a safari to Udawalawe (a bit too expressive but everything was planned for us). The free kayak is a nice bonus and a very nice activity to do. Rooms are clean and big. Very near to lots of restaurants on the sea side.

Loved the Very spacious room with huge balcony overlooking the beautiful garden. The pool is super nice and ultra clean. It's only a 1min walk to a stunning beach and there is a lovely safe spot to swim. The breakfast was great and served a big mug of the best coffee we have had in 4 weeks. Everything was perfect and the family that run it are super kind and thoughtful. We will be putting this place on our must return list.

Best breakfasts and dinners in Sri Lanka - varied and so much that you couldn’t possibly finish it all. Free bikes to get around the sandy quiet lanes if you didn’t fancy the walk. We only had 2 days here and wished we had stayed longer. Turtle beach - watching the turtles laying their eggs then going back to sea was also a highlight - get there late in the evening then it shouldn’t be so busy.

We are a family of four From Canada (two adults and two kids aged 6 and 10). This was one of our favourite stays while visiting Sri Lanka. The host is one of sweetest people that we have met here. She made us feel very at home! our kids were in the kitchen cooking with her and laughing. they were learning how she made some of the most amazing local dishes we have ever had. we were here all four nights that we stayed here simply because the home style cooking was just phenomenal!! There is also fun activities nearby such as visiting the rock pool beach which is just beautiful! nice restaurant on the beach and we would hang out there all day basically having a pristine beach all to ourselves. I cannot get recommended this place enough. We came as strangers and we left as friends!

The lady-owner gives the best hospitality in entire Sri Lanka. She makes amazing home made food, with passion and love. She explains a lot about food, ingredients, animals, birds and area around. Room was looking new and clean with good AC and extremely comfortable fresh new beds. She took care of us like a mother. We used the bicycles for free, that was great option to get to the beach. We got huge, good quality breakfast with lots of fruits, eggs, pancakes, curd and honning. The hotel is located out from the city, quiet, peaceful and a huge empty beautiful beach, very relaxing. We spotted a huge turtle at the evening, just by sitting on the beach, without guides etc. The lady-owner helped us to arrange tuktuk trip which her husband is driving for reasonable money. Aswell Safari in Udawalawe with her good friend Jeep driver in National Park. We really recommend to stay here if you looking for lovely people around you, quiet, relaxing time, local food, beach for yourself and clean accommodation. Over all expectations, thank you ❤️

The manager Ravindu was the perfect hostess. Very welcoming and friendly bringing us drinks and tea upon arrival. She organised transport for us to the turtle retreat and cooked the most amazing dinner. Certainly one of the best we had throughout our stay in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was delicious with a huge plate of fresh fruit, lovely local curd , hoppers and sweet pancakes - superb. The lovely open balcony overlooking the garden and pond opposite was a really relaxing and sociable place to meet and chat with fellow guests. Rooms were big with good bathrooms and a four poster bed. We all agreed that it was just a perfect, rural location, so close to the beach and turtles and also had great bird watching opportunities. Quiet and very relaxing - it was our favourite guesthouse throughout our stay. Thank you Ravindu for making us so welcome.

This was a lovely quiet spot where you are surrounded by nature and wildlife. Amazing host that was very helpful and made tasty food. The breakfast was great - almost too much food. We ended up eating at the property for lunch and dinner too which was reasonably priced and delicious. Room was big and clean, with well working shower and aircon, plus mosquito net which is always good. Turtle point is nearby where you can go at night time to spot turtles laying eggs if you’re lucky by paying 1500 (only have to pay if you see turtle).

I will have a long review but is very important! My recommendation is to book the villas. The villas and the cabanas are 2 different locations separated by a green yard , unified in one name, with separate owners. The villas are more updated and the restaurant / pool area is nice, the food is good and tasty, we had a great time with the kids at the pool! Please be aware that the property has a road to the beach, but they not own the beach space - so you will find only local food from the villagers.

This was a beautiful, secluded resort. The cabanas were a great experience, very comfortable with seating outside and inside. The pool was great and the resort backs on to a beautiful beach with eating and drinking options. We arrived and decided not to leave, spending a whole say of our stay switching between the pool and beach.

Amazing pool where we spend most of the days. We visited during July where the sea is rough and we couldn't swim on the beach. However, we also just went here for the nice weather and the pool to relax after the long flight to Sri Lanka before exploring the country. The garden was lush and the children loved the animal life with peacocks and lizards and even a monkey.

Great peaceful location right on the stunning beach, with terrific service from the team of eager young guys always ready to assist. The pool is excellent and kept really clean - quite a feat given its proximity to the beach. The food is very good and the team will go the extra mile by setting you a dinner table directly overlooking the beach. There was even good hot water in the bathroom basin - missing in a few places we’ve stayed in in Sri Lanka! Overall an amazing spot for a few days wind down after touring. Wow this boutique hotel was awesome. We really enjoyed our stay here - it is close to surf beach, with a great swimming beach out the front of hotel. We could also walk to the turtle point and the pool area although small was perfect for a cool off after relaxing by the beach. Views and sound of waves at night are wonderful. Rooms are loevely and decor relaxing beachy vibe. They are also room with great beds. Highly recommend.

The hotel was one of the most beautiful we ever stayed in. We really enjoyed our time as it felt like paradise there. Everything was clean. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful and attentive. Whenever we went to the pool they brought us pads for the pool lounger or when we went outside in the rain they came with umbrellas etc. They also drove us to the bus when we were in a hurry. The food was also delicious.

Wonderful Stay at Sanji’s The Seaside Cabanas I had a fantastic time at Sanji’s The Seaside Cabanas. The swimming pool was always clean and well-maintained, perfect for a relaxing dip. The bungalows are spacious, comfortable, and offer a great level of privacy. They served us wonderful, delicious Sri Lankan food, which we highly enjoyed.The beach is quiet, clean, and just a few steps away – ideal for unwinding and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

It was just amazing ! A small paradise for a few days ! The room is very spacious, the outside shower gives a real charm, a little terasse were you can rest, it’s very quiet, the pool just in front of the beach (just be aware, you can’t swim there are too much waves so it’s dangerous but beautiful to watch for sunrise or sunset)! Our host was adorable: he was here to answer all our questions, even got me a coconut even if it was not on the menu, amazing breakfast with a view, he arranged us a scooter, just perfect, thank you very much !

We had an amazing stay at Turtle Watch Cabana!!! This was the best place that we've had in Sri Lanka. The family was so wonderful, and their boy was a perfect little tour guide! He played with our boy, showed us a lot of places, fruits, and was just lovely. The location is perfect, very near the beach and the owner is a perfect person to show you the turtles. That was an extraordinary experience for us. They also showed us a rock pool where we could swim as the waves were pretty big. Food was amazing too and we ate there all the time! We cannot recommend this place highly enough! 10 stars!

Cabana is located far from civilization but very close to the nature. Beautiful Rekawa beach with natural swimming pool where You can swim and in the night watch mother turtle laying eggs is just within walking distance. Cabana host works in turtle conservation project and assist you to watch turtles. The cabana is spacious and clean. The bathroom under the sky is absolutely unique. if you like wild animals you can spot the water monitor lying I the sun on your roof. Good breakfast - pancakes, omelette and plate of fruits.

Our stay at this amazing place, in a beautiful and really clean cabana near Rekawa beach was simply unforgettable! We traveled as a family with teen children, and from the very first moment, we felt like part of the local family. The hosts Asanka and his wife Ridmi were incredibly friendly, caring, and always willing to help with anything we needed. The atmosphere was so warm and authentic, making us feel like we were visiting relatives rather than staying at accommodation. My children quickly made new friends, especially with their son Premu who spent time with us and showed us so many local things. He is such a free spirit and we all miss him a lot 🫶. We enjoyed the peace, beautiful jungle garden and delicious homemade food so much that we prolonged our 2 night stay for another night and after our check out and moving to another beach accomodation along the coast we had decided we wanted to spend our last two nights at our cabana again and we had come back again 🙈. Asanka was there for us willing to help at any time and Ridmi makes these beautiful sarongs 🪡. If you're looking for a quiet place where you’ll feel at home, surrounded by wonderful people and genuine Sri Lankan hospitality, this is the perfect choice! The beautiful beach is cca 5 minutes walk, with nearly no tourists, you can either enjoy waves or a natural rock pool. Thank you for the amazing memories – we will definitely be back! 🫶🇱🇰

Asanka our host and his family were lovely, so welcoming and obliging. The cabana was beautiful, set in their garden - very peaceful, clean and roomy. Asanka works for Turtle Watch and kindly took us out to the beach on our first night. An absolutely amazing experience! We saw several turtles, witnessed egg laying, hatchlings - just incredible! The Turtle Watch officers are all very knowledgeable and the work they do so incredible. We visited during the low season so everywhere was very quiet - during the day visiting Rekawa beach (which is stunning) we barely saw anyone. We had breakfast and dinner at the cabana both days of our stay and it was absolutely delicious! Brinjal curry is one of my favourites and it was definitely the best I have ever tasted (the large array of other curries were also wonderful!). We went into Tangalle for a wander one day and Asanka kindly dropped us off in his tuk tuk and similarly transported us on a trip to Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary. I really can't recommend Turtle Watch Cabana enough!

This place is so remote and peaceful! You can hear the sound of rolling waves, birds and other animals. No beach bars and human sound around. The beautiful cabanas are well hidden under shady trees. The room was spacious the bathroom has an open shower. We, that’s me and my two young daughters, were the only guests. The host took us to the turtle beach at night where we spend some hours spotting two huge greenback turtles digging holes and disposing their eggs. This was a unique beautiful experience. We were all alone there. He works for the conservation center as an official guide. Groups consist of dozens of people normally. Finally the dinner (classical Sri Lankan rice and curry) and breakfast were delicious. Kids loved it. I would definitely recommend this place.

Beach towels are provided, so you don’t have to take from home. Bathroom is very clean, plenty of branded toiletries (smells amazing). I was missing a shower cap only (if you don’t want to get your hair wet under the shower, as sometimes you have to take few during the day). Towels are fresh and soft, feels like in the Spa. Pool area is spectacular!!! Most of the time we had it to ourselves. Restaurant is very cosy and inviting. Our breakfast was included in the price. The food was delicious. I would say that 4 pieces of toast for 3 people is not enough. I would recommend to have at least 2 toast per person and would be great to have a glass of fresh juice too. We have used restaurant for dinner and a lunch; good choice of meals (western) and few local options available. The staff is helpful and trying to accommodate every need. I would highly recommend this villa to my friends!!! The views are pictures!!!

We had an amazing time in Mandala Villas. The villa was spacious and very tastefull decorated. The service was superb. Even though the hotels location is quite remote, it is very easy to go to Tangalle or Rakawa. We highly recommend this place!

Truly heavenly. The location, the villa and the staff made our stay just perfect. The beach is pristine and set in a beautiful cove. It’s so peaceful with the perfect combination of sea, beach and mangroves. Really beautiful. We stayed in the Kurumba House and honestly I cannot compliment the staff enough. A particular call out to Donald who looked after us and made sure we wanted for nothing. Our privacy was respected and Donald shared his WhatsApp number so we could message when we wanted something. He made sure the villa was always perfect for us and when we wanted time on the beach that we were also looked after. All of the staff have a wonderful nature and were so welcoming. The main villa is beautiful and from what we could see all of the rooms were really lovely. They work on small number of rooms with lots of different living spaces so it feels boutique. Kurumba house was stunning. We loved the outdoor veranda and the private pool, which was a sublime temperature. Whilst we were at the beach for sunset, the house lights were put on and lots of candles made it a lovely welcome back. Meal times are always flexible around your time table so didn’t feel rushed to a schedule and we ate at the House with Donald looking after us and making sure whilst we ate, our bedroom got the turn down service. My wife and I had an amazing stay for our honeymoon. The location is so peaceful, with the beach behind the hotel being so beautiful. The food prepared at the hotel was simply stunning! We had a daily set menu with choices, and the menu was great, food portions were generous and tasted amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The only slight negative about this place is the wifi is very temperamental (not always a bad thing). It can feel a little sleepy through the day, but if you’re looking for undisturbed peacefulness, this place is perfect!

To say this place is spectacular is an understatement. We booked for 2 days and extended for 2 more as we simply fell in love with it straight away. The property sits on a gorgeous quiet beach with blue water, rolling waves and lovely soft sand - you cannot believe that it feels like your own beach! Our room/s are decorated beautifully we no details spared - your privacy is guaranteed with only 8 rooms and discreetly partitioned if you want you own space. Meals are served on your own balcony whenever you need. The icing on the cake at Taru is the exceptional service - always generous, helpful and relaxed. We have been totally spoilt rotten for 4 days. Thank you so much to Mal, Rupa, Sanjeeva and the team for looking after us so well. We will be certain to return soon. If you are in the area and considering Taru - spoil yourself for a few days - you wont regret it!

The breakfast was the most generous one in whole Sri Lanka, there were classic western eggs with toast, jam and fruit (mango, banana, pineapple, maracuja, watermelon) but also traditional srilankan food (curry with hoppers and some bread, delicious rotti with coconut). We had really full bellies everyday. They also served fresh coconut water from King coconut which is full of electrolytes and super healthy. The beach was approx 8 min walk. Accomodation is surrounded by nice restaurants. And the wifi was working 100%, every guest is given unique access code, so if you need to work on your pc during holiday, wifi in this place really works! Thank you for very nice stay!

This place is just perfect. Let's start with the hosts who were pleasant, helped us with everything, including laundry services. Their breakfast is perfect! Homey and cozy and so delicious. The rooms are clean and spacious and the air conditioner is excellent. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the sea and close to all the good restaurants. We will definitely go back there! perfect

House on the Bend is the perfect combination between a hotel and a guesthouse: It has all the comfort and privacy of a hotel, as well as the family feel and kindness of a guesthouse. Sisira was attentive to our every need and Gayangi cooked us great gluten-free breakfasts every day. We were initially going to stay for two nights but ended up extending to four because we loved the place: the rooms are super comfortable and you really have everything you need, even a lovely balcony with a table and chairs. The location is perfect as it is a five-minute walk to the beach, and close to so many restaurants for dinner. Thank you so much for everything!

The owner, Mr. Tharuka was very much responsive and helpful when we had a few issues with the kitchen. Nice clean pool was the highlight. The privacy issue of the pool and the garden has been fixed.

The villa is spectacular and although we did not meet the hosts they were very responsive to messages. The villa is big, comfortable, good shower and lovely swimming pool. Importantly, it is in an ideal location, the beach just 150 meters and about the same for a variety of shops. We are a couple but this would be an ideal place for a family as I'm sure children would happily spend all day in the pool (and then sleep very well at night 😉).

Our stay at this villa was absolutely exceptional! The place is stunning – spacious, beautifully decorated, with a breathtaking view and a wonderful pool that was perfect for relaxing. The villa is well-equipped, spotless, and very well-maintained. The biggest highlight was the host – incredibly kind, helpful, welcoming, and attentive. Thanks to him, we truly felt at home. This place exceeded our expectations in every way. We would love to come back again! Highly recommended!

We loved this place because of the pool, the spacious bathroom and the incredible shower. The owner was super friendly and helpfull when the electricity shut down in the whole village because of an accident. We ordered breakfast at Salt Breeze and that owner was so friendly to deliver at the villa.

Absolutely fantastic. Great place to just chill by the pool, you can even barbecue on the grill! It is very close from the beach and from the shops, yet it is really calm place. The owner is very helpful and kind. You will definitely have a feeling of living in a luxury villa which is really affordable and not overpriced! I can definitely recommend the this place.

Our stay at Lanka Beach Boutique Bungalows was truly unforgettable. The room was extremely spacious and comfortable, the resort’s garden was absolutely spotless, and the pool was beautifully located right on the beach. The beach itself was pristine, wild, and almost completely private – a rare paradise. 🌴 What impressed us the most was the food at their restaurant: simply phenomenal, with the highlight being the seafood & fish platter, which was among the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. This is the best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka. We stayed here for 4 nights. The pool is large and great to swim in. The beach is amazing and pretty much empty, we had it alll to ourselves. The breakfast wad delicious every morning and you can choose from a variety of breakfast options. The room is spacious, very clean and modern. The manager Yohan made us feel welcome and took care of all our needs here, always being proactive in asking if we need something. He made our stay perfect. I really recommend this hotel if you are looking to come to Tangalle.

I had an amazing stay at the Golden Beach Paradise Hotel in Sri Lanka! The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, with a special shoutout to Yohan for going above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. The hotel is spotless. The food was absolutely delicious, offering a great variety that satisfied every craving. There is no kitchen though. The property was very clean and we were nicely welcome by the family. The house is ideally located in a quiet area of Hiriketiya and is a 5-min walk to Hiriketiya beach. We really enjoyed the walk down the beach. Breakfast was tasty and authentic, they also kindly catered for one of us who is gluten-intolerant. A great value for money, we truly recommend.

room is exactly as shown in the pics. there is a lot of area outside of the room, with tables and a long verandah. there is also a garden full of trees and lots of greenery around. the host is superbly helpful, takes care of every little small request. he is also very accessible. the breakfast served is very tasty home made delicacies which is healthy plus tasty. there is hot shower in the bathroom and the bathroom is quite big. the beds are also superbly comfortable , maybe one of the best that I had during my trip through the south side of the county .

Very tasteful, clean, good quality rooms in a lovely garden with flowers, I saw peacocks and langurs in the garden and monitor lizards on the walk to Hiriketiya beach. The location is halfway between two beaches and ten minutes walk to each one. There are nice two local places to eat directly opposite on the same lane. Property is kept very clean and tidy by efficient management. Tea and coffee making facilities available as well as fridge freezer and filtered water which is free. The AC is excellent, shower is excellent and WiFi is decent enough.

Great accommodation in a quiet location about 10 minutes walk from the beach. The room is functional but very clean. The wifi works perfectly. Sinrath and his family are insanely attentive hosts who take personal care of their guests and are happy to give them info about the country and people. The Singalese breakfast was the best we had during our 5-week trip through Sri Lanka, very varied, there was something different every day. Sinraht is also happy to take care of transfers and even massages at the accommodation. Highly recommended!!

The property is really nice and has a great pool. The bedroom was very spacious, had really cozy lighting and great balcony with view to the pool and the sea.

Amazing location as the property was in beach front, with a little gate giving access to the beach. Due to being low season we are the only guest but the quality of the stay was not impacted, and the host was amazing. Swimming pool is modern and it was clear even if it was just for us. The room was clean , spacious and air conditioning was powerful. We recommend the local breakfast with sea view. Lunch and dinner was not possible during our stay but host recommended us 'Priya Moon Cafe and Seafood Restaurant' located 500m away and it was so good we came back during the second night.

Staff is really attentive and helpful. This makes for a really stress free vacation as we did not have to worry about a thing. Food was delicious and always prepared fresh. Beach was as epic as it gets, long and wide sandy strip. Pool was well taken care of and loungers were plenty to be found in shade and in sun. Rooms, although simple, were comfortable and cleaned daily. Location is good, quiet and relaxing.

The location is great - right on the beach - and there is a lovely pool with comfortable sunbeds. The breakfast was good for this kind of accommodation, though I wasn't able to have the Sri Lankan option during my stay for some reason. The room was spacious and had a lovely big balcony with a view right over the beach and the sea! The owner was super-helpful and really went out of her way to help me work around errors that I had made in my original booking. All in all, a great place!

The resort is of a small scale with only six rooms. The hostess is very friendly and speaks proper English. Rooms are spacious and clean. Swimming pool with view on the beach is perfect. The breakfast is a proper good breakfadt,bit not spectaculair.

But the rest very good, rooms, personal and food. Location is good just couple of block far away from the restaurants.

Beach front great view , friendly staff and comfy room. Met by the staff at the entrance who made us feel welcome and carried our bags, given a nice welcome drink and shown to our room. We had a partial sea and pool view. Beds were comfy , mosquito nets on the beds, cold air con and a warm shower. Pool was nice with a great view of the ocean and restaurant on the beach. Even had a fridge in the room .

Excellent location with beach just outside the restaurant. Swimming pool is well maintained and just besides the restaurant. One can actually enjoy Swimming in the sea and a dip in the pool soon after. Breakfast was ok and you can have your meals with a sea view. Lovely relaxing place.

The room was big and airy. The bar and meal location on the beach was really good. They are turning the restaurant into a bar with a pool table and relocating the kitchen and admin behind the pool. Will be different but thats progress. Staff and service excellent. Genuinely interested in guests.

Small fridge under the table. The staff friendly and helpful, they arranged me hair dryer and cuttlery to my room. We got welcoming juice gratis. Good breakfast, western style. Dinner available, bar, sun beds for free for the guests, can get a herbal massage on the beach. We enjoyed our stay!

We had a lovely stay at Ibis Bird. The property is situated right on the beach and our room was comfortable and homey. We stayed in one of the bungalows on the beach and it was amazing to be so close to the ocean. The beach chairs and cabanas were so welcome after a long day of adventuring. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming and helped us rent a scooter from the property. We enjoyed daily trips around Tangalle and enjoyed eating at the nearby restaurants. We found the side of Tangalle where Ibis is located to be relaxing and quiet. Perfect spot for people wanting to be right on the beach and escaping the business of town. Thanks for having us!

I had a fantastic stay at Ibisbird. The bungalow was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The beach is basically right in front of your doorstep and you can enjoy yourself all day long. It is a very quiet place and the beach is almost empty. Perfect. I ate nearly every day at the restaurant attached to the hotel. The food is vegetarian and very delicious. All the of the staff was super helpful and friendly. Would love to come back.

The large twin room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable — ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. Room had A/C. The bungalow is just steps away from the beach, so you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The surroundings are peaceful, making it feel like a little private paradise. They have only charged the discounted price shown on booking.com. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet and beautiful beachfront stay! 🌴🏖️

The location was lovely with immediate access to the beach with colourful fishing boats . Lovely verandah and pool with chaise longues to sit facing the ocean. Nice verandah off our room also overlooking the pool and beach.

This place is an absolute paradise. We stayed at Kurumba House right on the beach with heaps of privacy, a private pool, and incredible service. We were looked after with such care by Donald and the Taru team. The food is incredible too!! Highly recommend doing a cooking class.

My second journey to Sri Lanka was now, March 2021, and I deliberately have chosen the UTMT as my second quarantine hotel. It was like three and half years ago: very pleasant, nice location, very good food, very good service and some amenities like a big, usable pool, afternoon tea and cakes/fruit, free phone calls, yoga lessons etc. The rooms are extremely interesting, with lots of detail, and with a small private pool. All together the premise is exceptional as are their prices; I could come more often if there wasn't the price ... I have to think twice ... what a pity.

A truly wonderful retreat, with wonderful views, it’s own private beach. Rooms were nice and clean with bath and shower, outside shower, small pool, balcony. Sounds of the birds and monkeys outside. Spa facilities looked clean, but not modern and make sure you book early to avoid disappointment. Friendly staff.

We stayed for th three days and we wish we had stayed longer. This is a lovely resort style hotel on the beach, private swimming pools, and excellent restaurant and high quality ayeravedic spa and treatments. The rooms were spacious, the fittings fun and charming. Lots of coll additional service such as an inhouse tailor, free yoga and mediation lessons, and afternoon tea. he private hotel beach is clean and well guarded. The staff were excellent and we enjoyed everything about this stay. T

Amazing. The hotel is located on a hill next to a private beach (waves are pretty strong but safe to enjoy in the shallow). Beautiful views from the pool and the restaurant. Room is comfortable, stylish. Everything well thought to the smallest details.

Service and accommodation were exceptional. We were upgraded to a beautiful villa with private pool. Walkable to beach and tons of activities including movie nights, happy hour, and delicious dinner at communal or private tables.

El Destino was a fantastic place to stay in Hiriketiya. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, with lovely sea views. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a real highlight—plenty of delicious food, and if you eat around 8 AM, the lack of cover isn’t an issue. The location is great, within a short walk to both Hiriketiya and Dickwella Beach. We personally preferred Dickwella for its quieter atmosphere. A perfect base to enjoy the beaches and relaxed vibe of the area!

The property is as pictured- clean, modern, has all the amenities you would need and a very comfortable bed! Fantastic location just 3-5 minute walk from Hiriketiya beach, yet away from the noise and in a peaceful location! Would highly recommend staying here! Excellent breakfast, helpful staff and a lovely room.

Newish property, so everything feels fresh and clean. Good shower, decent enough wifi, lovely staff. Breakfast on the roof was great - not the usual “all you can eat” multiple course fiesta that was often brought out in other places we stayed in Sri Lanka, instead you choose one item from options on the menu. We had an enormous bowl of yoghurt, muesli and fruit (with extra milk) every morning - it might sound simple, but it was really excellent and what we were craving after weeks of dahl, omelettes and white bread! Location also good - almost equidistant between Hiriketiya beach and Dikwella beach, yet out of the main hub.

Great hotel a stones throw away from the beach, restaurants and bus station! We stayed in a non-pool room (which seemed to be the only one without a private pool) so we had the 'shared' pool to ourselves anyway. The rooms are clean and spacious and the bathroom is nice too.

Walking distance of Tangalle Beach. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner but we prefer to go for breakfast, you can choose from English and Sri Lankan breakfast, we tried both and both were delicious. The breakfast is served in your room on your request. The pool was clean and you could enjoy some sun all day long. The staff was extremely helpful, and they are taking good care of the pool on a daily basis. The room was spacious and clean.

We had apartment without private pool but the accommodation was still very good. Room was spacious, clean and with AC and mosquito net over bed. We used pool by the lobby and restaurant that was clean and big with spaces to comfortably sit. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Anama Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I could ask anything and I received an answer and / or help. I also asked for dinner on short notice and it was delicious. The breakfast was fantastic. I really liked my room and the pool - it’s very nice to have a private pool.

Lovely hotel, just a short walk from a quiet beach. The swimming pool is great, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are spacious. We stayed in the room closest to the road, and while it was a bit noisy at night due to traffic, it was still manageable. Overall, a very nice stay!

Fantastiske søde mennesker der arbejder på hotellet, beliggende på den anden side af vejen til stranden. Vi havde ofte poolen for os selv. Der var dejlig stille og roligt. Og så har de den sødeste hund lassie. Helt klart værd at besøge, hvis man ønsker ro og fred og en lækker pool. Maden smagte også rigtig godt. Hvis man ønsker byliv og aktiviteter hele tiden er dette ikke stedet.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. We had a big family room with 3 beds and big balcony with sea view. Good clean swimming pool. Good breakfasts. Quiet and cozy place. 2-3 minutes to walk to an nearest beach. There are several beaches not far from this hotel. Good Wi-Fi.

The room was amazing - really big with a beautiful sea view and balcony, aircon, fan, tea, coffee, fridge. Very clean and modern. Shower was massive with really excellent water pressure!! Staff were very polite and friendly. Only negative was the pool was very green and quite murky, but nevertheless would highly recommend!

We were upgraded to the oceanview balcony room. The room was modern, really big and the doors to the balcony opened so that the balcony became part of the room. The pool was fantastic. The staff were beautiful and made us feel very welcome. Everything about this place was above our expectations. There are places to eat very close walking distance or 300 rupees in a tuk tuk to get to main beach party area. We loved this place and highly recommend. There is also a beach across the road.

We liked this place so much because of the staff they are so helpful, kind and all of them is gentlemen’s 😄 we got some cold welcoming drinks then we arrived, nice clean room! The location is a little bit of but we liked it. Good breakfast, and we felt safe ☺️ We do really recommend you this stay and then you are here go to silent beach! It was an amazing beach not that far away ☀️

Location, room, breakfast - all perfect :) You can find amazing beach just across the street. 7 minutes walk from big supermarket. Room was big and cosy, with sideview over some palms = could be better but we can't complain. Crew was very helpful and did their best to satisfy us :)

Bay Hiriketiya is a nice looking accommodation with green space, literally across a small road from the beach. The staff were friendly and the room was really nice, spacious and clean. It’s in an excellent location in the heart of Hiriketiya so you can get from room to beach in about 30 seconds! There are tons of surfboard hire places on the beach but it gets very busy by about 9 or 10am, so I’d recommend going early to beat the crowds and the heat - most of the surf hire opens around 6am and it’s lovely (and cooler) to get in the water then. There are lots of cafes and some shops to explore in Hiriketiya, and you can easily walk to Dickwella beach in one direction and to Blue Beach in the other direction. There is also an ATM and a small supermarket round the corner from the hotel. I would stay here again as it was so central and easy to get everywhere.

It's very clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. The location is amazing for the beach and local restaurants. I had a pleasant night sleep as it was quiet, comfortable and had AC. A decent budget friendly hotel!

Amazing location - just steps away from the beach and lots of places to eat. The room was basic, but clean and sufficient, bathrooms clean with no smell. We had a room with 3 beds, so made it a little cramped, but was manageable (lots of places to store our suitcases out of the way, which was helpful). Staff were very friendly and organised laundry etc for us. The restaurant was handy for meals for breakfast and dinner for our kids.

Perfect location, 1min walk to a stunning beach, surrounded by amazing cafe's and restaurants, shops and the beach is beautiful. We only stayed 2 night's and easily could have stayed a week. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable.

The property was in a great location, a very short stroll from the beach. The room was clean and felt safe and the bed was very comfortable with a decent mosquito net. I slept really well while I was here! There was a nice common area to sit in which meant you got to chat to the other guests and the owners were kind and helpful!

The location is amazing, 2 min from the beach! The room was perfect for me and my friend, comfy bed and with mosquito nets. if you’re looking to stay for multiple days there is an equipped kitchen with fridge and a nice table to have lunch/dinner outside. totally recommended :)
